This was our first ever B and B. The first night in Halifax was at the Westin. Had we known how accomodating and homey the Ascendence was, our first night would also have been at the Ascendence. Thanks so much to Kathy and Dan ( and Victoria).

Though we arrived last moment and unexpected , due sudden plan changing, Kasia managed to find a place for us (couple with 3 kids!) For what we are very grateful. The booking.com let us book the room with 2 beds, though it wasn't available in the B&B. Our room was nicely decorated. This is an old house, nevertheless its kept very...

There were no water glasses or wine glasses in the room. Catherines' response that people don't use them is very weak. Besides there were none in the community stash of glasses. We did receive upon request. Their ice maker, which had been previously reported as broken was still broken. Being advised that we could go to a nearby store was...

A classic old house that is comfortable, minutes from downtown. We found it to be pretty, our room was nice, it has a king bead and jacuzzi bath. We stayed 2 days, loved the waterfront, downtown, etc. Breakfast was wonderfully prepared, an omelette on the first day, crepes the next, served with fruit, yoghurt, juice, coffee. It was all great...

Yes, the breakfast was nice and the setting was historic, but the owners need to learn to separate their personal lives from the business. I'm not going to complain about what was broken in the room, wifi that only worked in the hall or the lack of amenities in the bathroom -- those things can be easily fixed. What bothered...

Expected faded grandeur but not peeing wallpaper and overgrown weedy garden. No air conditioning, old sash single pane windows. Can only park a small vehicle. While clean, the place was shabby and definitely not suitable for anyone with a physical disability - not made clear in the posting. We did not even stay when we realized it was totally unsuitable...

The breakfast was delicious and our host was incredible! We loved our room - it was clean, lovely and delightful. We were pleased with the amenities - the five TV and free Wi-Fi were really appreciated. So was the recommendation for dinner. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Husband was right on with breakfast (which was delicious) and hostess, wife, was especially good at knowing exactly what to do in and around Halifax. Only thing to be aware of, if it is warm temperature in July there is no A/C. We are from Florida and we truely missed it. There are fans but we had to get up...

Katia (Kathy? Kasia?) and Danial, plus their infant Victoria were lovely hosts. We were warmly greeted, and shown to our room (the "Royal Suite" -- king bed, Jacuzzi tub, small sitting area). This is an "almost" rating. It was almost good, it had almost all the points I'd expect for a four or five star rating, it was almost what...

We had originally booked a stay at this bed and breakfast for July 8, 9 and 10 but ended up staying only one night due to the conditions of the premise. We arrived on the Friday afternoon and were greeted by the owners who were outside having a drink with another guest. Parking was extremely tight and my initial reaction...
