Fred and Marion went out of their way to make our stay in Dartmouth as pleasant as possible. - special considerations for dietary restrictions, a birthday morning muffin with a candle and song, and fireplace glowing when coming home on a wet night. When eye drops were needed on a Sunday morning, Fred called around and then drove me to...

We stayed here several years ago and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were adequate and it was quiet and in a great location for sight seeing. We let our family satay in our Condo and moved in here for a week. It is central, a little pricey but clean and the owners were very nice.

Fred and Marion are a nice elder couple and really care for their guests. The room was very nice and clean and if you do not mind a shared bathroom this B&B is just perfect. They serve a very good breakfast with boiled eggs and homemade jam. The ferry to downtown Halifax is just a short walk away. Definitely a...

We arrived to be warmly greeted by Marion who showed us to our room upstairs where there are two guest rooms, a shared bath and a small sitting area with tv. The wifi was reliable which helped us with finding a restaurant in Halifax and checking travel plans for the next day. Truly feels like you are staying in someone’s...

Blockhouse Hill is located right by the ferry terminal to Halifax (10 minutes boat ride). We had a whole floor for ourselves and felt right at home. Marion cooked an excellent breakfast with home made muffins, banana bread, pancakes, jam and granola. Fred told us all about Halifax.

My experience of Fred and Marion's kindness started even from before arriving at their home when they drove over from Dartmouth to Halifax to pick me up on return from a voyage on the Tall Ship Lord Nelson. Their words on arrival at their house "welcome to our home" summed up the happy time I had for my all-too-short stay,...

This is by far the most pleasant stay my husband and I have ever had! We traveled to Nova Scotia in late June and spent 5 glorious days at Blockhouse Hill. Together with two friends we spend part of our honeymoon in this charming B&B. Right from the beginning we felt very welcome by the personal and warm way Marion and Fred open their home to guests. They care about every little detail to make sure they have the most wonderful stay. Breakfast was delicious, Marion's blueberry pancakes are the best...

I would highly recommend the Blockhouse Hill Bed & Breakfast. Fred and Marion are wonderful hosts and made my stay feel like "home away from home". My room was very clean and comfortable, and I started off the day with a wonderful breakfast each morning. Fred and Marion are very helpful at pointing out places of interests and restaurants to...
