Room was not ready until 1 hour passed 3 PM while allowing others to check in early that 3 PM. It appeared that some regular clients got preferred to treatment. Sinks clogged and coffee and machine broken. Room cleans every 4 th night. A staff was very nice to fix the clogged sink at the midnight (appreciate her help).
This hotel has been one of choice in the last few years. It is close to downtown and next to the Harbour Arterial for easy access. The hotel is generally very clean and quiet. Check is is always smooth with reservations. Check out is easy as well. Parking has a charge, but it too is very reasonable. The restaurant has provided us with great meals, and many times we are fortunate to have Angelina as our server. Just a great server, she is super friendly and knows the menu very well. Food is great and the menu does vary from time to time. The only negative point we have is related to housekeeping and that can be directly attributed to the COVID protocols. Our last 2 visits, it seems that communications between the front desk and housekeeping were a bit askew and we had to get the front desk to get housekeeping to take care of our room. Again, this can be attributed to COVID protocols, as we never had problems before. This is very minor in nature and not a deterrence whatsoever. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.…
Sadly it was a very disappointing stay. Our room was not ready at check in (an hour late), the fridge was not very cold, the room temperature was not able to be colder, the pillows are flat and no extra pillows in the room, the bed was very uncomfortable, the room was very dark even with all lamps and lights turned on, luggage wheels got stuck in all flooring transitions and elevators, and the front desk tried to give us free parking with the late check in situation, but we already had paid parking with our conference stay package. Poor customer service and do not recommend.
We visited St John's on a business trip for 3 days. The hotel is ok, big and spacious rooms and a good size and comfortable bed. But if you get your room close to the lift it is going to be noisy. The room was never made during the entire stay and breakfast is poor. Also the hotel is not really in the City center but in an ok distance
We booked 4 nights here after debating between this location or the Hilton Doubletree. Based on location, I should have chosen Doubletree for very easy walking to restaurants as my husband had a injured leg, so we drove to eat. The hotel and room itself is very nice. Our room was large and had a great shower. However, the breakfast was the worst I have ever encountered in a Hilton. It is buffet and the price is outrageous for what you get. The continental is $10 and the "hot" is $20. I am gold Honors so I don't pay which was a good thing. The eggs bacon etc were lukewarm, when they had them. There was no bacon one morning, no yogurt another. We did take out one night for dinner and it took 40 minutes for my order to be prepared. Another disappointment was the laundry. Only one washer and one dryer were working. As 2 women were ahead of me, it took hours to get a load done.…
We were quite happy with our stay while in St. John's. This hotel is within easy walking distance of downtown. The rooms are spacious and clean. The service from the front desk was courteous and efficient. There is a nice café on the lobby level offering a buffet breakfast. The pool was small but well maintained.
service level at this hotel is sub par.. . staff don't seem to have any training on hotel operations, or hospitality. found cleanliness to be be shoddy, breakfast selections would likely be better at a motel 6. housekeeping, even upon request does not materialize..
Nice Clean rooms and nice decor. Two reasons for the 4 star rating. We were not told about the extra fee for parking even when we asked at the from desk if there were any extra fees when we arrived. The hotel was in the midst of some changes. I sent the hotel an e-mail about the extra charges but never received a response. I was a little surprised as you normally receive some type of response to your inquiry.
The front desk staff were excellent and resolved an issue with our reservation quickly and to our great satisfaction. The rooms we had were clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The continental breakfasts were excellent. The restaurant is very good, if pricey. We would gladly stay there again. The parking seems awkward, but actually worked out very well.
We sat outside in the patio & had a delicious thin-crust pizza and a salad. Both were were wee-prepared & the service was fast. The prices were reasonable & the service was excellent! I would go back here again.
