Booked the room based on photos and reviews. Was not disappointed. But if your looking for the personal touch, you wont find it here. They hand you an enevelope with your keys and point you in the direction of your room...no front desk, no bell boy. The rooms are nice, clean, modern and the location is spectacular. It would be...

We spent two nights here. The location is unbeatable (right on Water Street) and the hotel rooms were modern and surprising quiet, given the location. Management is absent -- when the adjoining restaurant is open one can talk with the folks there, but that's about it. The night before checking out we checked that all was well and that they...

We made a reservation for the price of $129.00. When we arrived they told us that was not the price, it's now June so the price goes up to $189. then we were told because of the confusion we would be upgraded to a king bed, which was what we already booked. When seeing our room there was no balcony...

My husband and I stayed here for a week and were so pleased with this wonderful boutique hotel. The room was updated, clean, and had a huge waterfall shower. The restaurant staff were lovely and we always stopped at the bar on our way out to dinner for a glass of wine and a chat. Within walking distance to everything!...

The Franklin Hotel is a fairly new hotel in St John's, located in a three story heritage building on Water Street close to the heart of the down town. The building has been fully refurbished and was very comfortable. Offering ten bedrooms and two private apartments on the first (one up) and second (two up) floors, there is no elevator...

We enjoyed an excellent meal at the restaurant downstairs. Duck on Water. Service was great. Food was delicious !! I would definitely recommend this hotel for an evening. Our Balcony queen room on third floor was smaller than friends king room on 2nd floor but both quite nice. Very clean. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of August for 4 nights. We loved it! The hotel is in the perfect location and priced right. This hotel is conveniently located a couple of minutes walk to George St., the waterfront and a short drive to Signal Hill and Fort Amherst. It is also quite easy to get out...

The hotel is combined with the bar/ restaurant . Check- in is at the hostess stand in the restaurant. ALL personal information is kept on paper in a binder under the hostess stand by the front door. When the restaurant is closed there is no one on sight to help if there is any problem. Street meter parking only. ABSOLUTELY...

I had to stay here for a 3day business trip as I couldn't get my regular hotels due to availability; first appearances of this hotel are good - billed as a boutique hotel, but they need to go the extra mile. The main hallway was redone in hardwood, but leading off that and into the rooms is a disgusting shag...

Excellent welcome to the incredible Newfoundland hospitality we have heard about. We were very pleased with our room, the prices and the generous hospitality. The manager was over the top helpful and available, the chef cooked us an outstanding vegetarian meal for under 15.00, the location was perfect....Challenges with parking in the downtown are just part of life there, but...
