Situated near the historic Lower Fort Garry Historical Site and the VIA train (Union) station, this hotel is pretty, comfortable, and historically interesting (and reportedly haunted)! With live music in the restaurant at night and a popular Sunday brunch, this grande dame hotel is a great choice for a base from which to explore Winnipeg, whether going to a hockey...

Stayed here with a friend on NYE as a fun girls night and we were treated like gold. When we arrived it was really busy and we wanted to take advantage of valet parking. I could tell they were already over their limit but they took our keys anyway with a smile. Check-in took longer than usual but it was...

Having stayed here since at least 2009 I was rather disappointed with our most recent stay. Most of the staff is lovely and helpful, but not all. All day complimentary tea and coffee is no more. Outsourced rewards program. Our room this stay had carpeting that was laid over flooring with holes/missing pieces - you could step in a depression...

room was unique and different from other hotels. Stay was great, bedding amazing, breakfast unreal eggs benedict the best. Service very good. Hotel entrance grand and floors take you back in time. If your celebrating a special occassion let them know they will take care of you but upgrade your room to a pkg very well worth it.

We decided to stay at the Fort Garry over Christmas while visiting friends and family in Winnipeg. The old hotel is as beautiful as ever with the finely crafted wood, brass and marble. The architecture combined with the festive decorations and massive Christmas tree in the lobby created a warm and welcoming ambiance in peaceful contrast to the swirling snow...

Stayed here over Christmas while visiting family in Winnipeg. Our stay was outstanding. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the food and drink in the Palm Lounge were top-notch. A big thank you to the staff for making our stay so memorable. Highly recommended!!!

This was my second visit to the Fort Garry Hotel. Since both times were due to travelling on Via Rail trains, wanted a hotel that was central to the station in Winnipeg. The Fort Garry was perfectly situated especially when a snow storm had overtaken the city when i arrived. Staff and front desk were friendly but not overly, room...

The Fort Garry is an elegant hotel with historic charm. The rooms are stately and well appointed and I'm serious when I say it has the most comfortable mattresses and pillows I've ever experienced. There are a few suggestions I do have: While the coffee/tv delivery service is charming for a while (you order the night before and it's waiting...

Just enjoyed another amazing stay at the Fort Garry Hotel. It just keeps getting better!! Stayed in beautifully redecorated rooms, enjoyed a treatment at the 10 Spa (which is out of this world) and the food (breakfast through dinner) makes it not worth going elsewhere in town. Can't wait till next year!!

We didn't stay overnight, but we attended a wedding in the grand ballroom. And grand it is--lots of architectural interest. The hotel is over 100 years old, and much of the elegance of the past is still present. Gorgeous chandeliers and brasswork railings, for example. It's a gem.
