This hotel is a wonderful old heritage building. We were on the 3rd floor and got to do a lot of stairs as there is no elevator, but for us, the old-world charm of the building offset this. It was quite warm on the top floor despite being quite cool outside (note: No A/C) but we were able to open...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 8 March 2017 via mobile

Having stayed in queen twin room 105 for three nights, we left feeling rested, relaxed and contented. Having flown from Australia, Stephen's welcome was warm, the room was quiet and spacious and the beds very comfortable. Wi- fi was appreciated as was the suggestion to eat in the pub and also the cafe downstairs. The discounts were appreciated. In both,...

just a couple blocks from the inner harbour, and a block from beacon hill park. the location is excellent. Nice quiet rooms had excellent housekeeping, an excellent pub downstairs, in a very interesting old building. I would stay here again.

For the price I wasn't expecting much but the moment we arrived we were treated with such professional service and kindness. This hotel is dated but SO clean and charming & full of character. They offer complementary coffee & tea in the morning and the location is very close to Beacon Park. This is NOT a five star hotel but...

They have a very good and varied menu, and very reasonable prices. Our experience with our particular waitress was memorable. She was happy and eager to please. Wonderful sense of humor too. Family restaurant - plus it's possible to eat in a quieter area vis-a-vis part of the bar restaurant. Didn't stay in the hotel as we live in Victoria.

This hotel was exactly what we expected. For $120 (including tax), we got a clean, comfortable, petite, queen size room with ensuite. The hotel is an easy, and picturesque, walk to the inner harbour. You're also able to walk to Fishermans Wharf and see all the gorgeous houses and restaurants on the way. The local horse and carriage rides pass...

We enjoyed our stay in the James Bay Inn Hotel. It's a very unique building and pleasing to the eye and senses. The lobby is large with comfortable places to sit down. The hotel has a very pleasant scent; not musty at all. The rugs are in great condition as are the many stairs you must walk up and down,...

Lovely room. Clean and really comfy beds. View not great but only here to sleep. Walking distance to lots of sights and things to do. Remember a blow dryer! Friendly staff easy to find from downtown, parking included which is a plus as you pay for parking everywhere in Victoria.

We stayed at James Bay Inn for 3 nights. The rooms are small but we like the atmosphere of a historical hotel. The room was very clean and the service at the front desk was great. This is our second stay here and we will definitely be back.

Once upon a time I lived and worked about two blocks from the JBI. I've eaten in their restaurant and their pub countless times but have never been a guest of the hotel. Flash forward to present day -- I live in another city and recently went back for a weekend with my husband. Perfect opportunity to complete my JBI...
