I've stayed at Swans probably 4-5 times now. Its my go-to hotel when in Victoria and I recommend it to all of my friends. Having said that -- it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Its a little run down at the heels in places. Furnishings in the rooms, carpets in the halls, paint, etc could all use an...

We stayed three nights at the Swans Hotel and Brew Pub and the best I can say is it needs updating. The room was clean and spacious, ours had an upstairs bedroom with a lounge, dining area and kitchen downstairs. Unfortunately the bathroom/toilet was also downstairs and could only be accessed through the lounge, dining area and kitchen - not...

We spent last Halloween in Victoria, staying several days at Swans Hotel & Brewpub. The experience was delightful for us, as we do enjoy a good beer! The real surprise, though, was the room. The price was not extravagant at all, so we did not expect to wind up in a small apartment! The room had two levels -- a...

Stayed 2 nights with family in a 2 bedroom suite. Bedrooms were upstairs & I believe would be quite warm in summer. Lots of floor fans in unit so I'm assuming there are issues if it is hot. One bedroom did not have windows only a skylight that could be opened as long as you weren't expecting rain(window is directly...

We arrived hungry off the ferry from Port Angeles, and the restaurant was perfect - the food came quickly and was delicious. I had a salad that was chock full of wonderful flavors and ingredients. Our room in the hotel was spacious - an apartment really. We loved being close to Chinatown and being able to walk everywhere. It's only...

Stopped in to the brewpub for a beer and decided to stay and eat. The food was surprisingly good; tried the Asian stir fry with prawns added and it did not disappointment. The bowl was full of noodles covered with fresh, steaming vegetables and prawns. The margarita pizza was a bit bland.

We booked into Swans studio suite after last staying there in 1997. When our room was ready we were told that another couple had requested our studio so we were "upgraded" to a 2 bedroom suite. Well, the room was as far from the elevator as you can get, it is on two levels, with the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs,...

My sister and I needed a 2 room suite. Swans had one for about $240/night. Was sort of a 2 story loft. 2 bedrooms upstairs. Nice LR with table and kitchen facilities on main floor. Street level featured a great brewpub with good food and good beers. Fascinating historic neighborhood with architecture from 1880-1930s, including many local court houses, port...

We stayed in the king suite above the bar. Each room in the hotel is unique. Ours had a very large living room, separate bedroom and kitchenette. Although it did not bother us, the noise from the bar is noticeable until about 1am. If you need more quiet a different room type would be more suitable. Dinner was good at...

The hotel/pub is situated right on the edge of downtown and Chinatown by a busy-ish junction that, amongst others, leads to Johnson St bridge (not the prettiest!). This area is being developed - over the road is an old warehouse or similar that is being refurbished and extended. We were happy to stay in a place that appeared to have...
