Overall this hotel is in a great location. VERY walkable. From hwere you are a 20 minute walk to Granville Island, Gastown and 10 minutes from Yale Town and Robson street and only one block from Granville Street. Location is hard to beat. Rates are usually reasonable and my only complaint is that the hotel has the worlds smallest elevators,...

During a week's stay here, I enjoyed excellent service from all staff, who went above and beyond in their roles. A waiter arriving to start his shift met us outside the car park lift and helped us with our bags to the car. The lady who serviced our room, always friendly and thorough in her work also gave recommendations on...

Loved it, had a great front desk clerk, Wei. He let us know what hot spots were close by and treated us with a smile. Spotless rooms, the 24 hour pool was awesome. Gym was huge for a hotel gym. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks

Hotel was comfortable and in not a bad location. Like many Holiday Inns it was "casual" and that extended to the desk staff who were relatively off hand. Bar area was always very dark making you think that they didn't want customers. On a positive note the King rooms are very spacious but bathrooms quite small.

I enjoyed the hotel. What I did not like was a 1.3% nightly charge they combined (hid) into a factitious tax rate when you book the room on the IHG website. On the final bill they itemize the fee out correctly as a Tourist Marketing Fee. Of course I did not see that until I had already paid the bill...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
