We were a somewhat disappointed in this hotel. It is OK - average. The room was a bit dingy with a balcony that overlooked an alley where you could see drug addicts getting high. One also had to leave the parking area driving through this same ally - a bit unsavory. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not....

Dear Michelle56_13, Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Vancouver Downtown, BC for your lodging needs in the area. I regret that your stay was not as satisfactory as expected, brought about by the service provided by some of the hotel staff and concerns with the pillows and the exit of the parking lot. We have noted...

I was quite surprised by the quality of this Vancouver downtown hotel. First, the location is great to both walk back to Robson, etc. and for the quality of the actual hotel. The lobby was all dressed up for Christmas and looked lovely. The staff were exceptionally helpful, particularly as we had a large Ford Truck to park and THAT...

Booked this hotel through airmiles as it was one of the choices that did not eat up a large amount of points. I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The hotel is older but they have worked hard to keep the rooms up to date and aesthetically pleasing. All staff members were very friendly. We found everything to be clean...

Dear alanaconda, We appreciate you taking the time to write a review. It is nice to see that your Air Miles booking worked out. Your kind words about our team will be shared with them. We are hoping to do some work to the elevators in the new year that will increase there speed. Unfortunately increasing the size is a...

1 night stay, double chargement from the man named MASA in the front desk! Force me to make another other and refused to cancel my primary order! Marked my primary order as no show! Even I still stay in this hotel now! I stayed in one room but should pay double! By the way, MASA is a really rude man...

Good day Kyle Jiang Y, Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately the reservation did not meet our hotel policies. Our policy precludes us from checking in a 16 year old. Our minimum age to check in is 19 years of age, this is noted online and was advised when the check in was being attempted. Masa is a well respected,...

This is a return to this motel. As I have commented previously, the location is just fantastic. It is close to bus routes and close to restaurants and only a few blocks away from the shopping centers. The staff are very polite and very knowledgeable of the attractions to go and see and nothing is too hard for them to...

We stayed in Vancouver for 5 days. Overall I have no complaints about this hotel. We got a great price per room on Hotwire. King room with large couch. Very comfortable. My only complaints are the same as pretty much every hotel: horrible pillows, weird room lighting, not the best shower. Bonus: the pool is open 24 hours. It's also...

The staff are wonderful people. Room was great for what we needed. Within walking distance in downtown Vancouver to restaurants, theaters and clubs. Four stars for the staff. I hope the idiot who stayed on Room 710 on November 19th. You are a rude angry drunk. You punched a hole in the wall of your room at least three times....

Good day Colette K, I appreciate you taking the time to write a review. The events that unfolded during your stay were disappointing to say the least. Our room was on the 6th floor. Lifts are small and a little slow but worth the wait. Lovely big room which was clean and has an opening door onto a small balcony. Great to walk from sky train when you land at airport. Just a 18 min walk. Starbuck right corner. Restaurants in easy walking distances. Great staff really helpful. Clean rooms good night sleep. Small bar in lobby if you don't feel like going out. Serve a solid breakfast. Fast easy check in and out.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
