This place is a wonderful lodging choice in this dynamic city. Tucked away amongst apartments in the close-in West End, it is within walking distance of virtually everything that downtown Vancouver has to offer as well as the hopping Robson Street scene. We opted for...More
Just back from a weekend at the West End Guest House, as a celebration get-away for both my husband's and my birthday. Everything from the lovely, well appointed room; to the deliciously creative and plentiful breakfasts; to the perfect location for walking to all our...More
WEGH is such a great place to stay in Vancouver “proper.” Located in the West End, it is just a few minutes’ walk to Stanley Park, amazing eating on Denman, good shopping on Robson, and just a brief jaunt to Gastown for some really trendy...More
So thankful this beautiful home has been saved & lovingly cared for, such attention to detail, what a great place to stay! The breakfast was second to none, 5 star! Very good location, can't wait to return!
Stayed three nights in September. Very comfortable room , and a roomy lounge and guest verandah in which to recover from sightseeing. House seemed unattended for most of the time, and we didnt see much of our hosts who seem to live elsewhere. In this...More
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
