The hotel seemed very dated, but all the furniture and fittings were not worn. It was clean and the the staff were friendly. The wifi worked well. I'm not sure I class it at boutique. I was caught out when booking and ended up with a room with a shared bathroom (this was my error for not looking carefully enough)....

Kingston is located at center of Vancouver downtown and have wonderful markets and cafe nearby. If you are traveling with family and look for a place like home, it's best hotel for you.

Entire character of the neighborhood has changed from funky, charming and historic to ultramodern and soulless because of massive steel-and-glass construction. Sigh. That said, the Kingston has got nothing but better since our last visit! Oh, the room are still teeny and you still have to walk down the hall to the shower, but there seems to be a bit...

We like older hotels so enjoyed this place. It's in a good location and not far from the Sky Train. I emailed with questions and they always answered promptly (Sean). I didn't realize he room type I had booked had such a small bed. We will stay again but I will request a larger room and bed. We used the...

The location of the hotel makes it excellent. Right near the metro. There is construction going on next door. You get a construction worker to act as your crossing guard. The rooms are small. Luckily, I was traveling by myself. Showers and bathrooms are community. Usually there is not a wait. There is a sink in the room but there...

Friendly and helpful staff. I had a shared bathroom but it was no inconvenience. If thats what made my room a good deal, bring it on. I arrived off my train at 11.30am and to my surprise they checked me in to my room straight away. And when i checked out it was no problem to leave my luggage in...

The last time I was in Vancouver was 14 years ago. I stayed at the Kingston Hotel. I had stayed there many times before that. I liked that it is a small friendly family-run hotel. The guests were for the most part budget travellers from all over the world. Each time I stayed there improvements had been done to maintain...

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a very comfortable stay. However, we were disappointed with the breakfast - it was toast and two slices of orange for 5 days! My TV did not work for 2 days. Construction work all around the place was a bit annoying.

Although the hotel is right next to construction it wasn't a bother. Rooms are a little small but very cute. The shared bathroom was surprisingly clean and quiet. Breakfast was light but nice. Choice of milk juice coffee or tea along with two types of bagels and toast

I stayed there from Oct 1-4. It is right downtown at the top of the hill and two short city blocks from the Skytrain at Vancouver City Center. The public library, Big Bus and Hop on hop off trolley are a block away. The Waterfront, Gastown and Robson Street are minutes away. As in other reviews the breakfast was a...

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
