I have stayed in dozens of hotels in Vancouver over the years. There have been some great ones, but top of that list is the Carmana Plaza. My family and I just enjoyed a stay this past weekend, and the new renovations are fantastic. The engaging staff, as always, want to do more. We had a two bedroom suite, which...

Great location. Renovated rooms, particularly bathrooms, are spacious, not bad lighting over mirror, no clutter, comfy beds and the self serve kitchen is well stocked with dishes etc.. Might think about replacing the towels, they have been used alot and are not as absorbent as they might have been, but a minor point.

The Carmana Plaza is excellently located one block from Robson Street in Downtown Vancouver. Everything is walkable from the hotel which was great for two families with children ranging from 6 to 14. The staff were very helpful and organised a shuttle to the airport which was cheaper then taking 3 taxis which was appreciated. Rooms were more like an...

Stayed here for 4 nights and what a fantastic place. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and were always keen for a chat! The hotel is directly across from a neat grocery/restaurant setup (the name escapes me) which is excellent and has its own embedded Starbucks. There is also one of...

Hotel was good - self contained, very central, staff friendly. Downside is you pay at hotel for parking car @ $25 each night and then if your ticket falls off the dash and out of view, you get fined $60 by carpark agency. Can't understand why a hotel in this day and age can't come up with a better system...

Great hotel, clean, convenient, friendly staff and very affordable for the location. Lots of room and very nice bonus to have the microwave and kitchen facilities. Felt safe and secure which is a nice feeling for two women traveling alone.

We stayed here for a week with 2 kids and an infant in the 3 bedroom executive suite . Plenty of space - like having your own apartment in downtown Vancouver . We had views of the harbour from our master bedroom . The kitchen allowed us to prepare breakfast and snacks easily for the kids. The hotel is conveniently...

For the price, this is a great deal. Located in the heart of downtown vancouver, this is an apartment building/hotel in one. Rooms have a full living room, kitchen and dining room - its the most space I've seen in an urban location. Beds/linens are comfortable, and the room is very clean. The few negatives that I have are that...

These apartments are brilliant, they are spacious, stylish and upmarket - you really couldn't ask for more! The service here is lovely and friendly and everyone is full of smiles. This is the perfect place if you enjoy home from home stays - hotels don't do it for me, I don't have the freedom of space like I do in...

I stay at the Carmana Plaza whenever I come to Vancouver now and rate it amongst the world's best kept secrets in serviced apartment stays. It has spacious rooms and I love the little study and kitchen which provide everything I need for a business trip. The staff are friendly and helpful and the deli across the road has everything...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
