Beautiful room, very comfortable bed. Front desk staff were all very nice. Best view downtown. Lounge is gorgeous with lots of beautiful wood and was the very first bar in downtown Vancouver. The Sylvia hotel is rich in History and the actual hotel is beyond quaint. Great food also.

Hotel's Favourite
A European experience in a fantastic location. Excellent dining room and superb service. It's a historic hotel in Vancouver (1912) but has been renovated. Simple, comfortable and within walking distance of other excellent restaurants, Stanley Park and across the street from an oceanside walking trail.

Its star attraction is its location - so near Stanley Park, and English Bay as well as the restaurants and cafes on Denman Street. We rented a suite so we could have a kitchen. It was spacious - even a place to eat for two in the kitchen! Good service. Comfortable bed. Very pleasant!

The Sylvia. Hotel has a great deal going for it, whether one is staying at the hotel, popping in for a meal, or just a drink. As with most hotels, it serves all meals from breakfast through to dinner for hotel guests and local diners. The Sylvia arguably has one of the best views in Vancouver, a city which is recognized as having a lot of nice views on offer. Located just across the way from English Bay, it is also a short stroll from one of Vancouver’s most accessible beaches. It is also close to the downtown. It is dog friendly and offers parking. Safety measures are securely in place in accordance with government regulations. On the food front, it is this month offering a Valentine’s Day dinner from 4:30 pm from Friday February 12 to Sunday, February 14. It is also offering a wide- ranging Dine Out menu for Vancouver’s dining out month of February in which local restaurants can participate annually in the buzz of the event and guests get, usually a three-course offering, at lower prices than is usual. It runs from February 5th to the 7th. The cost for it at the Sylvia is 45$. It also has a Sunday night prime rib dinner for 34$. And the great view is available every night it has been open since 1912. Posted by S Fuller
