The location is very good, foot distance to any attraction or restaurant in downtown Vancouver and close to major transportation stations. The flip side is that the hotel is really dated. Some of the rooms facing away from the street will face office towers of such proximity that is impossible to have the blinds open for as anybody can see...

My second stay (on a Living Social coupon) and everything was superb - Diva has a new chef and she is quite the talent! My room was beautiful and quiet, the location is convenient, the health facilities quite good, and all of the staff bend over backwards to be helpful.

I stayed overnight at this hotel while on business. I found the staff to be very pleasant and was surprised when they could accommodate my early arrival (11 am). The room was very nice: bed was comfortable, lots of pillows, spacious washroom with both a tub and shower. Amenities were good, loved the lap pool. For me, the location was...

The Metropolitan isn't the newest or fanciest place in town, but it's very clean, in a wonderful location, and has *step-out balconies.* That's right, you can open your sliding glass door, stand outside and view Vancouver life as it happens. Loved that. Also loved the giant bathroom with a stool to use while doing hair/makeup. I found my room to...

Recommended by our travel agent, we were not disappointed with the Metropolitan, but neither were we totally satisfied. We stayed for 3 nights on three different days as we used the hotel as a layover when we went in and out of Vancouver to Victoria, Whistler and finally Seattle. We were given an upgrade on our first night to a...

We spent four nights at the Metropolitan Hotel this last month. It was our second visit but we had not been there for over 10 years. I remembered fondly from our first stay so we booked it again for this visit. It did not disappoint! We had a nice room on the 15th floor. Bed was very comfortable, pillows were...

Stayed here for 3 nights after visiting Vancouver Island and overall had a very good stay. Location is ideal being a short walk from the train station, Gas Town, shops and Granville Street. A bonus to have a gym, pool, steam, and Sauna etc. We probably wouldn't go back to Vancouver but would certainly look at staying in another Metropolitan...

We have stayed at The Metropolitan Hotel many, many times over the years. The hotel is well located to absolutely everything you might want to see or do in Vancouver, with great shopping right out the door! The rooms are elegant and well appointed, and their pool is perfect for an early morning or pre-dinner swim. Diva At The Met...

This was our final hotel after a great trip from Banff to Alaska. The staff were very friendly and thoughtful. We had a 70th birthday here and were given complimentary treats to celebrate, a lovely touch. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The hotel was centrally situated and we were able to walk to the main attractions and waterfront....

I've been fortunate to stay at the all met locations and this Vancouver location doesn't disappoint. In fact. It's quite phenomenal. Really loved the service, the rooms, the amenities. This is one of the very few hotel groups offering heated floors in the bathroom. Very modern touches. I think one of the best aspects of the met is location location...

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
