The Best Western Sands Plus is an older hotel which met our needs perfectly. It is located right across from English Bay beach and there are hundreds of eateries close by. The staff was very pleasant and polite. The beds were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed...More
Pretty standard hotel with a superb location, right in the heart of the most interesting and scenic part of the city, on bus routes, bike rentals, near Stanley Park etc. The walls however are paper thin. We could hear conversations, phone calls, coughing and more...More
Nice location with beach and food/drinks within easy walking distance. It is an older hotel that is kept up with nicely. Nice room with an older style window air conditioner that worked well. Not much of a view from here towards the mountains and Stanley...More

BW Plus hotel is special because it has a soul. Paulette is a great manager that listens to guests and does all she can to accommodate them. My friend and I asked for two separate beds in a room, while originally the room we reserved...More
Stayed here for two nights. The location is great - lots of restaurants in the area, and close to the English Bay. The hotel looks very shabby and needs a makeover. There was a lot of noise in the room, the elevator made noise all...More
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
