We recently stayed at this exquisitely renovated home and were very happy with all the thoughtful and well appointed details. The bed was so comfortable as were all the amenities provided. We had a lovely view from the sweet little balcony in front of our room to enjoy the sunset. Although the timing for our arrival and departure did not... More

We had booked this room a while ago when it was still a B&B, however, it was clear in the confirmation that in 2016 breakfast would not be served. We missed that message. Had we realized, we likely would not have booked it. The room we had was very nice and quite comfortable. There are free snacks and beverages in... More

Dear guests: We are so sorry to hear that your stay with us wasn't perfect, which is what we strive for with each guest! It's important to us that our guests not be surprised by the fact that we're no longer serving a full breakfast (we do put gourmet yogurts and granola bars in the room fridges for a light... More

We own a B&B in Idaho. We have studied a lot B&B's and have "sampled" B&B's simple because we own a B&B and always have an eye towards improvement. It was an absolute delight to stay at "B&T Guest House." Lynn and Michael have obviously devoted themselves to attention to detail and design. We know from personal experience what it... More

We had a wonderful stay with Lynn and Michael. The rooms were well appointed, comfortable with everything we needed. The loft room also had a full kitchen which was great to make breakfast each day particularly as the local Cafes don't open very early. However, the best part of the stay was the tasty biscuits Michael had made that were... More

We were here for three nights. We've stayed in 100+ B & B's, and this one was definitely top notch. It's an early 20c Victorian located east of downtown on a quiet residential street, but only a block and a half from Commercial Drive, one of Vancouver's most happening streets (with 60 or so restaurants within walking distance, including one... I love this home and it felt like home. The hosts were kind and attentive and every detail was tended to for our stay. I got to try two rooms of the house, while my friend had another. All were beautiful and totally outfitted with little fridges and very modern bath facilities. The neighborhood is perfect for a day of... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this 1920s built guest house, which was very comfortable and full of character. Lynn, Michael and their staff were very welcoming, and we even found home-made cookies in our room each day. At the time we stayed they had stopped serving breakfast, but this wasn't too much of a problem as the fridge in... More

This guest house is on a quiet, tree-lined street near Commercial Drive's restaurant strip (but without the noise and traffic). Our room (the Ivy Room) was beautifully appointed - large, comfortable bed, in-room refrigerator, and lots of nice amenities. It's not cheap, but it's very much worth it. The owners are friendly and extremely generous with information about restaurants and... More

Once again we stayed with Michael and Lynn at the Bee & Thistle in the Lions Nest suite on the top floor. I told my husband that I wanted to move in! This is definitely one of the finest guesthouses I've stayed in. The owners have not only decorated this old house beautifully but have thought of virtually everything a guest might want - from fine bedding, a lavish loo, to thoughtful touches like fresh homemade cookies on your bed, wine glasses and corkscrew, small fridge with drinks and goodies if you... Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
