Got a good price on Expedia.com. Too good to be true? Yup it is the dirtiest hotel I have ever had to stay in. Didn't notice our rate was for a smoking room. Who has smoking rooms? My husband asked if we could move. They wanted more money. We said forget it. Rugs were dirty and stained and so was...

Dear Wendybikemom, Thank you for your observations as all feed back is very useful to the Hotel. The Hotel does post our Smoking Rooms on-line at a reduced rate due to the fact the additional amenities of fridges and microwaves are not included. For a number of Guests this reduced rate is the attraction. There is still some demand for...

This place is outdated and loud! And this hotel has had it named changed many times. I can see why those other hotel chains left and don't want their name associated with this hotel. I booked thru booking.com. When we arrived they gave us a smoking room. What hotels have smoking rooms these days. They upgraded us to non smoking...

Dear DilltheThrill, It is clear from this review that you were very disappointed with the stay and how the staff handled the situation. For that we are sorry. Not sure how long you have been visiting the area but the hotel has not been a Howard Johnson since 2005. We do sell our smoking rooms at a lower rate then...

The service here was excellent, and they easily accommodated our small dog. It is in a great location and we had a beautiful view from our room. We were disappointed with the frequent smell of marijuana in our room - however we don't hold the hotel responsible for this. The rates are reasonable, the room was clean, and it had...

Dear Kayasaurus, Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing. It means a lot that you have expressed to us the staff were friendly and helpful. We are an older hotel but we have begun to make changes and will continue to do this over the next year. We have recently added microwaves and...

1.Location - not that there is something to do in Prince Rupert besides shaving your legs just not to get bored but it is about 100 meters away from Air Canada's shuttle to airport. If you fly Hawkair then check in is next to the reception. Room was a bit smelly but big spacious and clean.

Dear Dan Strasser, Our guests do find our location ideal as we are located in the middle of it and have the amazing views of the water and ocean. Sorry to hear that you found the room did not smell the way it should. The housekeeping department works hard at keeping the rooms fresh. We hope to see you the...

We did not book ahead and most higher end accommodation was booked. This one was average clean, older hotel, plastic glasses in bathroom. Nice view of Harbour, noisy in early morning, trucks, guests leaving for ferry etc. Average hotel for the price in Prince Rupert. Staff at front desk helpful and friendly. Close to all amenities downtown.

Stayed 2 nights in early September 2015 - I took the 07.30 ferry to Port Hardy at the end of my stay - my requested 04.30 early morning call was on time. Check in and check out was fine and I was given a high floor room as requested. Good-sized room, but some people might say the room smelled a...

Dear Justinthai, Thank you for taking time to write a review. Sorry to hear that you felt the room smelled. We do try very hard to keep the rooms smelling fresh but with the dampness in the air it can sometimes be a challenge. Happy to hear that the hotel met your needs and that you found Dolly's! Lobby service were nice and welcoming. Rooms are dated and drab. Expansive balconies help, but otherwise, rooms are nothing special. Restaurant is ok for breakfast, but I don't think I'd eat there at other times. The lobby floor is oddly laid out with various offices (car rental, airline office). Place has potential.

This hotel is misrepresented by the photos on its website. Rather than being among trees and next to the ocean, it is, in fact, located next to a loud bar, shopping mall and car parks. Our room was supposed to have ocean and mountain views - these were actually peripheral to the car park which we directly overlooked. As with...

I got to Prince Rupert on the evening flight in this Sunday. The Highliner hotel is only a block away from the where the bus stops after the ferry ride from the airport. It's also got the National car rental facility in the same building - pretty convenient! Plus there's a Tim Horton's and several other restaurants within walking distance....

It cost a bit more than a few others in town but late at night just arriving in Prince Rupert it was a nice place to stay. The room had a great view and the food in the lobby was good. The service was friendly albeit a little slow.
