We recently stayed at the Grand Hotel in Nanaimo. I had to have tests in the hospital for two days, while I was gone my wife got to know most of staff by name, they were all very helpful in keeping her comfortable while I was gone.Even Barkly helped.Breakfasts , lunches and dinners were all excellent. The hotel itself is outstanding....

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel in Nanaimo on business. This was my second visit to this hotel. I chose to come back because the food was excellent in the restaurant. It proved to be true again this time around. I had both lunch and dinner and the meals were very tasty and the service was great. The hotel...

We were recently at The Grand for a group function. I can't say enough great things. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean, with its own seating area in our room! The function itself was top-notch, from the decor to the service. The group was large and our glasses didn't go empty. Every employee was polite and courteous and the...

The Grand Hotel has taken this project under their wing to support Crimson Coast Dance Society and build one of Nanaimo's most elegant events each year! The perfect match of a 13 year old Fundraising Whisk(e)y tasting and The Grand's sense of quality and experience (they do have a Whisk(e)y Bar that features over 125 labels!) has elevated this event...

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone-ever! The reception was very rude and no help at all. We stayed in one of their 'updated' rooms which only had newer nightstands and dresser, the carpet and other finishings were outdated and worn. No screens on the windows so bugs could come in. Tile was cracked in bathroom, grout was exposed/cracking...

My husband and I recently stayed at The Grand and we were very impressed. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. We had drinks in the lounge which was very comforting and relaxing. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. One of our party asked for a dish not on the menu and the chef accommodated her request to perfection. The...

I loved the ambiance of this hotel. The service in the restaurant was superb, food wasn't bad. I'd rate the eggs benedict a 3/5. It was elegant and quaint though the lobby area was a bit overwhelming with "stuff" that made it a bit overwhelming to find your way at first to elevator and restaurant. Once you are accustomed though...

Definitely overpriced for the quality of the rooms. Linens leave a lot to be desired -a bare boxspring - cheap and tired furniture. Ended up with a room over the ballroom so the music was so loud that we were unable to get any rest until it shut down. Members of our family had a room where the toilet didn't...

We held a PAPTAC bleaching committee meeting at this hotel. Beds were GREAT as was the hotel in general and the hotel staff. I like milk in my coffee, not creamers. By the second day they were hunting me down in the meeting room to give me my personal cold 2% milk in a nice silver small pitcher to put...

Had an amazing experience at a catered function for about forty people. The room was elegantly decorated. Staff were friendly and knowledgable about the wine pairings. Felt pampered! The food was expertly prepared and the presentation perfect. I would highly recommend this venue for functions.
