Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in Kelowna last month for a wedding. Overall the experience was below expectations. It wouldnt have been so bad if the cost of the room wasn't $265/night. At that price your expectations are higher. It was obvious they had limited staff, so it was difficult to complain because you know everyone is doing the best they can. That being said, we had to request our room to be tidied and towels changed on multiple occassions or they simply would have not done our room. The Pool turned into a full on party at 10 pm with about 40 people in the pool even after it was theoretically closed. The kids didnt mind the pool, although because of the constant partying out there the level of the pool was down about 1.5 feet for the whole time we were there. Overall I would have probably stayed somewhere else cheaper if I were to do it again.

Room Tip: Try for the Tower with an outside view. The pool view has terrible AC.

Hotel's Favourite
I booked the tower king suite with view for roughly the same or less money than standard rooms in many other Kelowna hotels. Very nice suite with balcony. There was a technical issue with my bedroom TV but the staff resolved it quickly. Friendly staff throughout the hotel and quick help with room supplies at the front desk. The only negative thing for me was the 2 giant “nest” chairs, they take up lots of space and they’re awkward to use. I would suggest a couch, coffee table and club chair as a more workable option. All considered, a very nice stay and I will definitely consider this hotel on my next visit.

Room Tip: Reserve an upgraded room in the tower, it’s worth it.

Always stayed at the sandman kelowna when ever i am in the area and stay in the tower which cost a bit more. The last trip was 2022.08.23 when i found the dirty night table, then dirty towels hanging behind the bathroom door. After the shower i found the toilet seat was also dirty. I checked in at about 11pm since got up from 5am, i just need to sleep for the next day work. When i told the front desk and asked that they looked into it, i was assured the GM would call me. It is Sep 11 and i have not heard a thing. Needless to say, this is one sandman i will not be at in the future. Check your room carefully.

My family stayed end of august in the atrium building, close to the lobby. It was nice being close and we didn’t experience any noise issues. From check in to check out all the staff was helpful and welcoming. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Thank you for the great stay.

Kelowna is disgusting. Agressive drug addicts everywhere. There was a bucket with approximately 50 cigarette buts on our balcony. Clearly the staff smokes there. We moved it to the hallway. Then noticed it had returned on another balcony. Terrible overpriced restaurants. Very disappointed. I won't return. The wine tours were nice.

Our room was badly in need of a do-over, wood moldings at floor looked chewed on and banged up, furniture scarred and marked. Went to make coffee only to find the coffee packet had previously been opened and then left. No shampoo or soap in the room. I gave the coffee package to front desk who remarked “eww, gross” would you like another. By that point I just wanted out of there. For the price of the room at $250+ Canadian funds I expected a lot better.

I suggest you book else where. I’ve had 2 rooms over a week for work because the air conditioning doesn’t work and it’s like a freight train when you are trying to sleep. The cleanliness is not there, the bathroom tubs fill up when having a shower. If you want access to the building make sure you have your walking shoes on as your key will continuously not work to get in to the building or the elevator or your room at least twice a day. And the new room air conditioning doesn’t work. You can tell Management don’t care about the hotel it shows. You really need to fix it up there are light bulbs out, hand prints all over everything and generally just disgusting. Leaving tomorrow for another hotel , lost another 2 weeks of business because of the above.

Pictures on website looked ok. We were booked in for 3 nights but when we found out location was quite some distance away from the centre on a busy highway we were disappointed but resigned to the fact. Moreover the area wasn’t quite our idea of somewhere to stay on ‘holiday’ as it was in an out of town shopping area next to a McDonalds. More of an overnight stop off for business or trades. Quite a large security deposit also required. Also not walkable to centre (about an hour) or a bus/car journey. Room given was on ground floor looking out to highway. People above were pouring beer out of window onto the ground below and shouting loudly. Room smelled of stale food and smoke. Just couldn’t bear to stay. Decided to book out and stay more in centre. Hotel offered an alternative room but location and standard just wrong for holiday. Others in queue at reception had similar issues with room smelling and also no hot water. We stayed in centre a two minute walk from lake which was lovely as we could walk to bars, restaurants and the the lake etc. Other reviews seem to reflect our experience.

Check in started great. But went downhill. I can get over the tired decor, but when our keys continually didn’t work (4+times). The hot tub malfunctioned and there were no towels by the pool and only two in the bathroom. The pool was disgusting as well. There was no water in the vending machine and the only answer we were given is to go to Superstore at 930 at night.
