My daughter and I visited in October we had the most fantastic time. We saw grizzlies chasing and eating salmon, we were surrounded by whales sitting eating our lunch in a half cabin cruiser with only 5 people on board. We saw black bears on the sea shore and a real highlight was hiking through the forest. I would highly...

We had an amazing time at Sailcone Lodge. Beautiful scenery, cozy lodge with incredible food. We saw humbacks, black bears, dolphins, sea lions, and to top it of grizzly bears feeding on salmon. We had Glenn as our tour guide who did an incredible job, making sure we saw every animal possible. One highlight was having humback whales circling our...

Thank you very much for your kind words. It is great that we were the highlight of your trip. It is always an added bonus when the whales show up for lunch. All the best

My husband and I spent several days at Grizzly Bear Lodge in mid September. If you want to learn about, not just view Orcas, Grizzly Bears, Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Porpoises, Bald Eagles, Shearwaters and other seas birds, their habits, their quirks, in an absolutely smashingly beautiful environment-Book a trip here. The small group experience is why we chose this lodge...

Thank you kindly for your review. We have always felt that our small size was one of our biggest assets as it allows for all of the guests and guides to become familiar with each other over the course of the trip. It is great that you had so much success with the wildlife and managed to learn a few...

This place and its owner and staff make for an absolutely experience, which for us was the highlight of 12 days on VNcouver Island. Angus and Glen are superb hosts and superb wildlife guides with a wealth of knowledge and work hard to find all the species on everyone's list, we saw it all and in profusion! Rooms are comfortable...

Thank you very much for your review and kind words. The float plane ride to the lodge does offer some great views. Glad you enjoyed your trip and slept like bear cubs. Hope to see you again some day soon

We stayed here for 2 days in August. Very professional and experienced people running the lodge, everything was well planned and run, good equipment, and good guides. We also had a fair bit of luck, but it all added up to a great experience. We saw lots of orcas, including transients hunting porpoise; around 6 humpbacks coming up for great...

Thank you for your review. It sounds like you had some awesome sightings! I'm glad you were finally able to see bears in Canada. Mission accomplished. One of my favourite parts of the day is sitting down at dinner with people from all over the world and discussing our day and occasionally trying to solve the world's problems. It is...

We had a great experience at Grizzly Bear Lodge! We went to see wildlife and we certainly did - grizzly bears, bald eagles, sealions, humpback whales and orcas. One of our group was also lucky enough to see a cougar. Another great part of our stay was the atmosphere of comfort and friendliness, as well as the delicious food. Many thanks...

Thanks for your kind words. Great to hear that the wildlife and stay did not disappoint. Seeing a cougar is extremely rare and does take some luck. I was guiding the group that saw the cougar and I think I was almost as excited about it as the guests.

I cannot rate this highly enough. The staff are so friendly and joined in for communal dinners and evening chats as well as being very knowledgeable guides. The meals were all fabulous with lots of variety. The best thing is the small number of guests which means there can be flexibility when you're out looking at wildlife rather than a...

Thanks for your review. One thing that small groups does is it allows us to be somewhat flexible with our viewing, which often pays off. The wildlife is not on a set schedule so we try to organize our day to maximize our viewing. Thanks again

We had the great pleasure of visiting Sailcone Grizzly Bear Lodge a couple of weeks ago during our vacation in BC, Canada. The experience was fantastic and we can only recommend it to everyone who seeks a unique nature experience. The nature and the scenery around Knight Inlet and the Johnstone Strait are simply amazing. As others refer to in...

Thank you so much. The wildlife is the big draw for most people (for obvious reasons), but the scenery and scale of the area continues to impress. I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again.

We travelled as a family of four with two teenagers. If I were to rate this place from the accommodation alone, I would struggle to justify 2 stars. Nevertheless, as other reviewers have pointed out, the lodge focuses on the wildlife experience, and so the quality of guides, food, wildlife and scenery rescues the rating. I have rated it 4...

Thank you for your review. Great to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us and were able to see some terrific wildlife. It is unfortunate that you were not satisfied with the room. My family of four just returned from a stay here and we could not recommend it more highly. From the setting which is unbelievably beautiful, to owners, staff, and delicious food, everything is wonderful.
