As others have said, it is almost absurdly inexpensive, and clean, friendly, local, comfortable and a timewarp back to the 60's (at least for the $49 rooms in the older main motel). Just what we were looking for, no complaints! Bring your own toiletries, they only provide inexpensive bars of soap. Bed a bit hard, but still slept well -...

There should be a "Fair" category in the ratings continuum, because this motor court motel is neither average nor is it poor. It is an old, no-frills place that is inexpensive and right on the bay with very pleasant views. The rooms are very clean and the staff does an excellent job of keeping them that way. But, there is...

I would not advise anyone to stay here. Rates are reasonable for area. Views are great but the entire place is rundown. Our room was dirty.....hair in bathroom and on bed blanket. Awful stains on the side of box springs. Dead flies in the track of the sliding door, which wouldn't close all the way. Under the bed had not...

Located directly on the water and south of Booth Bay Harbor it is a very good find. We thought the rooms dated but quite comfortable and a real bargain price. Friendly staff and low priced continental style breakfast at the cafe. We will use this motel again on future trips.

The setting of this motel was wonderful. The older part of the hotel was clean but in definite need of updating. The price, however, was very reasonable and made the stay acceptable, especially as we came into the area without reservations. We needed no other evening activities other than sitting on the dock in front of the motel. We were...

Just returned from another wonderful 9 day stay. Owner Jim, along with Lorraine, Brenda and Scott, took great care of us. Weather was cool, but the Boothbay views from our 2nd floor room with a spacious balcony provided serenity and a scene not to be equaled. They are gearing up for the "on season" which will be commencing soon.

Decent, clean rooms, Nice views. Friendly staff, even saw staff out at a local restaurant and they spoke to us. Nice pool. Nice breakfast room-reasonably priced. We had a first floor room, sounded as though upstairs was stomping. Free ice machine, no fridge, but coolers welcome. Great water pressure for showers-good hot water!

We accidentally discovered this place about 5 years ago while driving around Southport Island checking out the lighthouses. When we looked at the rates, hubby and I looked at each other and couldn't believe it! All rooms waterfront, two buildings of which have balconys overlooking the water, no more than 50 +/- feet away! Prior to this discovery, we had...

The property and the staff exemplifies the charm and beauty of a traditional mid coast Maine experience. The rugged and beautiful terrain and views from every room at the Ships Ahoy affords guests a luxury they would never get to experience from the majority of lodging options in the area. To the reviewers that proclaim poor hospitality, substandard accommodations, and...

This motel is one of the best kept secrets around the Boothbay region- only minutes away from the hustle & bustle of the Boothbay Harbor region- you can have the best of both worlds. The rooms overlook the ocean- the view is gorgeous and the people who run this lovely place are fantastic. The room was clean & neat -...
