We recently stayed here to attend The Dark at Fort Edmonton. The gates were locked and we tried for 30 minutes to try to reach someone at the hotel. We were unable to talk to anyone at the front desk and got a message that someone would get back to us within 1-2 business days. There was no information on the email confirmation on how to get to the hotel if Fort Edmonton was closed. We were finally able to talk to someone in the park who directed us to the Guard house. Our stay was great - the hotel was clean and really fun as a retro place. Unfortunately, the Johnson Cafe was closed but there were food trucks during The Dark. Overall, we would stay there again.

We love visiting Fort Edmonton Park. The hotel is nicely maintained. We had the New Year's brunch. The setting is nice, the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was good. After lunch we wandered through the park. Even though a lot of it is under renovation, it is still a lovely place to walk around.

From entering this themed area one is transported to the 1920’s - except for a great bathroom and super air conditioning. Reception is fast and clean. The lift and stairs are great leading to marvellous rooms, linens, and decor. The dining room has an amazing menu for all three meals. Staying here certainly enhances the visit to Fort Edmonton Park - and the Mahogany Bar simply adds lustre to an already terrific stay.

We stayed in the Selkirk Suite and it was clean and spacious. Johnson's Cafe offered a delicious breakfast and we were so pleased that the park admission was covered in the cost of the hotel. We spent half a day in Fort Edmonton and enjoyed ourselves immensely!

I love Fort Edmonton Park. I think they have done an amazing job in how they set it up by years and all the people who work there are so informative and friendly. To be able to stay in the hotel was an added joy! The rooms are comfy and surprisingly quite spacious. We enjoyed walking around the grounds in the evening when the park was closed. We went to see all the animals again on our evening stroll. We did take a glass of wine for our evening walk, but I don't know that we were really allowed too. It did make our evening stroll very elegant and romantic. We had a beautiful stay.

We took a king room. The only old thing from there was the phone, that’s it. Everything else was regular furniture and appliances., the bathroom was modern with shower etc. Clean room and linens. Restaurant has a very poor menu.

We stayed at the Hotel Selkirk to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. It was a lovely stay. I really liked the room. It was clean, spacious and true to the era. The bed was comfortable and the soak in the claw foot bathtub was amazing! Situated in Ft Edmonton Park, the hotel was wonderfully quiet. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was great as well. We will definitely stay again.

Friends were getting married at Fort Edmonton Park so we decided to make a weekend out of the event and stayed at the Hotel Selkirk. Your stay includes admission into the park so if you want an extended stay this is a good option. The hotel is fully restored and the rooms are themed into the period. Even so, the rooms are nice and spacious. The bathrooms are on the small side however; functional and well appointed. The stay was very relaxing as we immersed our selfs into the theme of the period. No TV, no radio and the grounds are very quiet at night. All in all a very pleasant stay and would recommend it.

Desk clerk said what he had to to check us in. Dining room would equate it to greyhound cafe. Rib eye dry over cooked no HP sauce which I think Lord Selkirk would have insisted on. Bun 4 days old. Had to ask for butter. Soup awesome. Asked for change got a 10 bill so she got our change not plus 5.00. Ver disappointing. Hotel itself amazing and a pleasure to be partof history. Love the park after hours and included in hotel is day of and next day admission to park a huge bargain. Parking a nightmare to find as stated above. Would stay here again and have soup for dinner and enjoy park.

After visiting Fort Edmonton Park on many occasions, we wanted to spend a night at the Hotel Selkirk. We stayed on a Friday night, and the park closed at 5. The restaurant in the hotel and the bar were both still open. We enjoyed a nice meal (totally ordered too much food) and had a few drinks in the bar. We then decided to tour around the park, as other guests were doing. It was surprising how many things we noticed that we had never seen before, on one of our other visits. We met Sir Hank, the parks cat, and he was super friendly. We got to see parts of the park we never have, like the beautiful ponds were there are picnic benches and nice walking trails. The staff at the restaurant and the bar were fantastic and they made the night that much more fun. We returned again to the bar for some evening night caps. We enjoyed a few of the classic drinks, like bees knees! We had too much fun! It was extremely nice to come back to the room and not have a TV! That is exactly what we wanted, was the quiet and true glimpse into what life was like before tvs existed. We enjoyed the swings and taking in the beauty while walking down 1920 and 1889 street. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. Staff was great the whole time and offered lots of suggestions and facts on the park itself. It was a fantastic evening, and we are so glad we went! Next time we would like to have some friends join us and have it be even more special! We also didn't know that the bar and restaurant is open to anyone after the park closes! You just need to enter the park like you would if you were staying at the hotel (come in the back) ! Another thing we would definitely like to do :)
