My wife and I stayed here in June 2007. We could not fault this place, The setting is perfect, the cabin was all original (1930's) outside, but fully moderised to a very standard inside. A fabulous experience.

This was our second stay. This time we stayed in a cabin for 6 nights. It was perfect. Great location, super clean cabin. My suggestion if you are going to get a cabin with a deck, where are several in the rear of the property,...More

We stayed here one night 'for the experience', which worked well, as it had the log cabin back to nature feeling, but with luxuary (such as a claw foot bath and seperate shower). I enjoyed the stay, and it was a good price, though I...More

Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and 2 teenage children recently. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and made use of the breakfast provided in the library. We had two bedrooms separated by a 'kitchen' and bathroom. Reception staff are most helpful and have...More

Stayed in Wilson Bungalow for one night. Really lovely place, with very comfy bed, new bathroom and a great shower. Fridge and mircowave and nice that you have your own parking space outside. Don't worry that it is near a main road - it did...More

Hello! Can anyone tell me if there is air conditioning in the saddleback Suites? I know there isn’t in the cabins so just wondering about the Suites? If not, did you ever miss it and feel like it was stuffy in the rooms?

No, as previous comments have confirmed, there is no air-con in the Saddle Back suites. However, we wouldn't have needed it anyway. We were there in June and it was still quite cool at night. Enjoy your stay. We loved...More

Hi Sue, what options are there for dining in the area? Any grocery stores in the area?

Yes, the Outpost (pub at the far end of the Post Hotel) is good. Get there early to avoid the crowd. I haven't tried the deli at the Chateau, but the restaurants I've tried there were mediocre and expensive.

Are you close enough to the lake to walk to it?

I would say it is about a 2 mile walk. And that is along the highway but i saw hikers walking that way.
