The cabin is as idyllic as the photos. Beautiful place to stay in banff National park. The main lodge is magical with a roaring fire on constantly. The food is incredible. especially the chefs tasting menu. Staff were so lovely, happy and helpful all the time. They could not do enough for you even though they were run off their feet usually working the front desk and the bar/ restaurant at the same time. We loved lighting our own fire each night and sleeping in the huge super comfy bed. Ideal after a day out in the mountains.
We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon and fell in love with its charm and character. It’s pretty rustic so if luxury bathrooms are a must this probably isn’t for you but we loved it! Oh… the food…. WOW! Best food we ate and we ate at some great restaurants but this absolutely took 1st prize! The service from all of the staff was fantastic, everyone we met was so helpful and all contributed to make our stay the most enhance experience possible. We will most definitely be back!
We had an amazing experience staying at Storm Mountain Lodge. Everything was just perfect, from the exceptional customer service to the fine dining! If you are looking for a nice getaway, we highly recommend this gem. Thank you again! Dale and Simon
We stayed at Storm Mountain Lodge for four nights to celebrate my 50th birthday and it didn't disappoint. The rustic charm of this 100-year-old cabin and lodge was quaint and cozy. Small spruce ups in a few areas would be an improvement, but this did not hinder our stay or enjoyment at all - we chalk this up to charm and character. Again, this historic cabin is 100-years-old! The Lodge has a reputation for great food and it did not disappoint. The hamburger was one of the best my husband has ever had and the beef short-ribs were delicious. Huge portions as well so be aware - LOTS of food! Lastly the staff were excellent! They were all friendly, accommodating and seemed to be very happy to help in any way. Had a very happy stay in our Historic Log Cabin! Tips: Bring warm clothes, munchies/drinks and a flashlight. Even in +33 Celsius August weather the mountains can get cold at night. There are no major amenities close by and the cabin is a bit dark. Recommendation: Hike Stanley Glacier and check out Marble Canyon close by.…
We stayed for three nights at Storm Mountain. The cabins are beautiful, rustic and spotless. The customer service is impeccable. We wanted a cabin closer to our friend’s and were given a choice of two other cabins. We ate fine dining take-out (lodge was closed due to covid) at our friend’s cabin each evening. Brought our camp chairs. Great location for hiking, and visiting Banff and Lake Louise. We loved hiking Stanley Glacier. Marble Canyon was breath taking and excellent for families and those with mobility difficulties. Morning coffee was excellent and the golden-mantled ground squirrels were so much fun to watch. The highway is noisy during the week, Monday -Thursday due to highway 93 being the detour when the Golden highway is closed at night due to construction. Friday and Saturday were much quieter for cabins closer to the road, like ours was. Would definitely recommend Storm Mountain to friends and family.…
We loved our mountain weekend, such a retreat to some normalcy. Staying in our own cabin, being outside for hikes and the excellent text or call communication for contactless service made everything easy. Plus, it wasn’t busy anywhere we went :) We arrived Friday, went for an hour walk to Marble Canyon 10 minutes away, returned to enjoy the meat/cheese board and Cedar Creek wine, highly recommended. Saturday am we hiked Boom lake, a 4 minute drive away and went to Lake Louise for a late afternoon drive (great time to go and avoid crowds). Ordered dinner which was delivered to our cabin within 20 minutes. Fantastic menu options, we enjoyed the plant burger, smoked salmon and pea soup. Glad it all went well for the reopening of the small resort after being closed for 6 months, still lots of snow to melt and cool in the evenings which made it perfect weather for a fire. Take out window and picnic tables available all day, great morning views of storm and castle mountain on Sunday when the sun was out :) …
Lovely getaway. The cabins are small, cozy, and very clean. They are well stocked with supplies to get a fire started easily. Felt super romantic. Staff is amazing and handled the covid situation very well. The food menu was limited but very good. The cabins are half way between Lake Lousie and Banff, so you need to be prepared to drive to get to places. The cabins are also right off the highway so be prepared for some traffic (e.g., truck) noise. We were there in September and would love to see it in the winter!
What a beautiful little getaway. The cabins are super clean and well appointed. Though, currently, the restaurant is closed the food is still outstanding. The cocktail menu is also worth the trip. Clearly they have a mixologist hard at work.
We have an annual tradition of visiting Storm Mountain Lodge with a group of friends. This year, most of them deferred their reservation until next year, but we stuck with the plan. You have to give the Storm Mountain Lodge team a lot of credit for the effort they made to keep our visit enjoyable, even with all the changes to deal with the pandemic. We missed the dining room experience for sure, but the excellent service from the walk-up window and the lovely outdoor seating were compensations. The Lodge is within easy driving distance of some of Banff's iconic hiking destinations and we took advantage of the reduced visitor numbers by going to Moraine Lake (usually too crowded) and hiking some the trails that start from there. We would absolutely recommend a Storm Mountain Lodge experience during this strange social-distancing time.…
My partner and i recently stayed here for our anniversary. It was so beautiful in the snow. We kept the log fire roaring and just relaxed took in the scenery and let the world pass us by. Would have liked to stay longer, but it was just a break in our Banff holiday to a getaway from the town. We had the food package, the food was great, the staff are friendly and was surprised to find the receptionist came from Enfield. Would love to return again soon.
