I have been to Banff many times and had never stayed at The Inns of Banff before. To be honest, I actually never noticed it as it is one of the first hotels you see when coming into town.
Upon arrival we got lucky and...More
We stayed in this hotel for a week. We got a superb deal @ one of the Banff accommodation web sites combining with 3-mountain lift tickets by booking the room two month ago. Therefore, I would say ski lift tickets cost us almost free as...More
Liked the breakfast, loved the bar. Very difficult to find your way inside to the main lobby. Inside Pool was decent. Most of the hotel looked old, a lot of repairs needed. Parking is atrocious. Outdoor pool looked nice.
A nice hotel at a reasonable price. The wifi is a bit flaky, but otherwise, a nice, clean, comfortable. The only complaint, although not a huge issue, was the restaurant didn't open until 7 am for breakfast. I had hoped to catch an early shuttle...More
Went here for my 50th birthday and booked the junior suite with a mountain view. Really disappointing.Dark dingy and not clean.
The hotel is scruffy, tired looking, not clean and it is like the Mary Celeste (there are hardly any staff to be found!!)

I did not visit the banquet rooms, and, based on my experience with the rest of the hotel, I wouldn't be in any rush to. The main areas of the hotel (lobby, gift shops) have air conditioning as part of their heating/cooling plant, and I would guess (GUESS) the banquet rooms are similarly serviced. The management has stated "it's an older property," which is often (not always) businessspeak for "we're not putting any more money into this property than we absolutely have to." There are other properties in Banff, far older, that have state-of-the-art air conditioning. But based on my own experience, and other commenters here, I'd bet this older property is not in that league. I'd SUSPECT.
