Nora and Roberto welcomed us in their home with open arms and were able to accommodate all of our requests - including booking an internal flight for us, finding us extra adapters and transformers to charge our electronics, personally driving us to town to run errands and organizing seamlessly our three days spent in Eje Cafetero through trusted transport companies to take us out to explore all that Quindio has to offer. The property is breathtaking and the hospitality truly special - delicious breakfast and three course dinner is prepared and served on sight by Nora and her wonderful helpers. We also highly recommend the tour of the Finca which includes a tour of the coffee plantations but also the private garden of the finca and an explanation of every tree and fruit that the garden holds - and it is a lot! We were lucky enough to be the only guests staying at the time and got full use of the pool, reading room and enjoyed the absolute peace and quiet that the property - all your hear most of the day is the array of birds inhabiting the garden, which is the perfect place to come back to in the evenings after exploring the region. Truly a wonderfully charming place not to miss during your visit to Eje Cafetero!…
The finca has been in the family for 130 years or so and it has been tastefully restored with antique furniture giving a real sense of history. The rooms are comfortable with good showers and the linen sparkling fresh. Again all traditionally furnished. Some of the beds are on the small aside for a double but we were offered a two room suite as compensation. Dona Nora and Don Roberto are gracious hosts, with a farm tour by the Don a must for visitors, though knowledge of Spanish is helpful. While we were there, there was a buff-necked ibis nest just above the lovely pool with two large chicks. Sitting in the cool terrace and birdwatching is my idea of heaven. The food is excellent too, freshly prepared from fresh Ingredients by Adriana and Joanna. I could have spent longer just sitting and enjoying nature in this glorious spot. A great base for coffee and Cocora expeditions. …
Situated a 10-minute walk with Quimbaya, this finca is a little slice of paradise. The house itself is lovely and well-maintained, but it is really the hospitality that stands out. Nora will go out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and arrange all your transportation/day trips etc. This is still rural living so there are bugs/geckos about etc but it is a very comfortable rural living with hot showers and clean rooms etc. Nora and the workers themselves are mostly Spanish-speaking so be prepared to speak Spanish most of the time.
The property itself is beautiful. Places in the main house to relax with a book and coffee. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Really made our stay and exploration in the area easy and enjoyable! Would highly recommend to family and friends.
I have travelled in Colombia since 1984 and thought I had seen or heard about every wonderful place to visit. I was wrong. Finca Villa Nora In Quimbaya Colombia is not only visually wonderful but Roberto and Nora bring to their home all the amazing things one can expect from such a beautiful and biodiverse country. The finca is on 30 hectares and is filled with fruit trees, coffee and mountain vistas that make you happy you are alive. Their hospitality makes you appreciate the graciousness and manner in which Nora and Roberto embrace their guests as family. They represent on every level the wonders of this beautiful country. If you have a chance to visit you will wonder why you didn’t do it before. You will love it. Ron and Clara Goff
