We stayed at the Pack Horse for a couple of nights while walking from New Mills to Chinley. The hotel has amazingly friendly and helpful staff throughout the business from being checked in, served at the bar and for breakfast. The food is outstanding with breakfast being faultless. We ate here both evenings too as the menu was extensive. Food...

We haven't been for some time and I am very pleased to say it's as good as ever. Thursday night and it was busy, I had Lamb Henry for my main and I could not fault it. They have a great choice of pub classics served in a cosy country pub atmosphere. They had some great guest beers, served by...

Stayed several times on business and it's time I thanked this little gem. On a cold night after hours on the road, the fire is lit and the staff are expecting you. The rooms are spotless and delightful, no milk capsules here, fresh chilled milk in your room for quality teas and filter coffees. Crisp white sheets and towels and...

Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Friendly, careful and attentive staff. Much quieter than you might expect. The food is a well-presented traditional menu. Guest beers well kept. I've stayed three times now and been happy each time. A real star.

We stayed overnight at the Pack Horse visiting our son's family. It is in an elevated position with wonderful views up to Kinder Scout. The conversion to create accommodation units has been carried out to the highest standard. Rooms are clean and spacious. If you like staying in places where there is a lively pub downstairs, which we do, yet...

Truly wonderful stay! The staff are so friendly and accommodating, they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you could want. True British pub experience, local brews from the old pull taps, to the authentic traditional food. Our room was just beautiful and had all the amenities one could ask for while on vacation. Fresh fruit,...

We have a relative close by, so we have stayed here before. Lovely homely room, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Really good facilities with some nice touches, such as a bowl of fresh fruit in the room. Really good breakfast (included in the room charge), catering for large full English made with local produce, or more modest healthy eating. This is...

The Pack Horse was the epitome of a great English countryside pub. Great friendly staff; our top floor room superb - great bed, lovely views, all essentials - and the menu has something for everyone. Simply cooked, we ate in the busy, buzzy bar area, but the open dining area is adjacent. Good beer choice. Perfect pub stay, loved the...
