My second visit to stay in this delightful home, just a perfect way to relax after a day trout fishing. A warm welcome once again, luxurious bath, great sleep in comfy bed. The fact that Marne Cottage is in a quiet cul de sac ensures absolutely no traffic noise. Sent on my way by good hearty full English. I will...

Thouraly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Marne Cottage. Have been to many B&B's before but this is by far the best. Julia (the hostess) made us feel very welcome. Great choices at breakfast and the Full English was amazing. Julia was full of knowledge of the area and where to go for walks and eating out. Lovely room and...

A return trip to the lovely Marne Cottage and Julia's warm and considerate welcome - not to mention to ever-friendly greeting of her engaging dog Alfie. Marne Cottage is a delightful historic cottage, beautifully and sensitively appointed. Lovely, comfortable bedrooms and thoughtfully provided extras. The breakfasts were excellent and the afternoon teas most welcome, as were all of Julia's recommendations...

Courtesy of another guest- a keen angler - we enjoyed a lovely supper of fresh trout expertly prepared by Julia, our hostess. The rooms were comfortable, though small. As we were only there overnight it was more convenient to leave our main suitcases in the car. The ensuite bathroom, in particular, was minuscule. While we coped for one night, we...

Dear Gillian, Thank you for your comments. I am delighted that you enjoyed the supper. I am sorry that you found your bedroom and the ensuite shower room on the small side: I think this is down to personal taste. Storage for your additional suitcases was offered to you but you declined. Feedback is very important to me and I...

Julia and her adorable dog Alfie welcomed us to Marne cottage with tea and chocolate cake by the warm fire. What a start to a perfect stay. My husband and I had one room and our adult son had another separate room. Both rooms were very homey, clean and comfortable. The breakfast next morning was outstanding and Julia made us...

Julia and her gorgeous dog Alfie welcomed us to Marne Cottage yesterday with a friendly, warm and informal hospitality. We enjoyed afternoon tea and chocolate cake courtesy of Julia before heading out to a lovely pub called The Globe in Alresford. The rooms were cosy, clean and beautifully decorated. We slept really well in the peace and quiet of the...

My daughter and I stayed for two nights, and had a lovely stay. Alfie (the dog) was a welcome distraction for my daughter (seven), and I couldn't fault the service, the breakfasts or the overall accommodation. I would have preferred it if it had been a little closer to Alresford (it's 3.5 miles), but that's not a fault of the...
