From time to time, we visit this pub/hotel located in the High Street in Alresford. It is an excellent venue for lunch and it has a very relaxed atmosphere. There is usually an a la carte menu as well as a special lunch menu with good quality choices. We have not stayed there overnight.

No email confirmation despite 2 calls. Pub closed Sun eve but management entertained friends in bar until 1am, loudly, and the noise travelled clearly up to our room keeping us awake. Smell of cigarette smoke permeated our room from bar below. Next morning whole place stank of cigarettes. Went down to breakfast to find a table laid but no one...

The Bell is a good pitstop for anyone exploring the medieval market town of Alresford. With a quality menu and a decent line up of craft lagers and real ales this is fun place to prop up the bar and listen to the local gossip or sit out back on a hot summer's day.

Had lunch here last week with friends; never been before; a great lunch; interesting menu and very good value fixed lunch; wide choice of well selected wines not expensive; highly recommended. But allow plenty of time to find somewhere to park your car: The Bell has no car park and on our day there was no space in any of...

My wife and I had never been to The Bell, but our friends recommended it. Quite right too. Lovely old building. Incredibly popular and busy restaurant. Service slightly slow, but so what. Waiters charming and professional. I have never been handed a steak knife in a napkin held by the waiter in any restaurant anywhere in the world. The four...

We booked The Bell as it is very handy for the Watercress Line which we were visiting on the Saturday. We arrived at 6:30 on the Friday evening to find a packed bar and restaurant. We had booked our room some 6 months earlier but not a table. We were accommodated though at 8. There is no carpark so unless...

Stayed here for 3 nights recently. The Inn is lovely and quirky, the staff very friendly and helpful (they came to help with dodgy lights in the bathroom and bedroom and provided me with a fan - it was very hot!) But my room was like Wooky Hole Cave - all dark red - walls, ceiling, everywhere! The lighting was...

Had a table booked for a friend's birthday. Arrived at 7.15 and some arrived at 7.30. After 1/2 hour we got a menu. Finally at 8.45 we got our food. I had belly pork. Bit tough. Won't go back. I know they were busy but that's an awful long time to wait.

Comfortable rooms with good sized bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had accidently booked at the time of the watercress festival, which meant the roads were closed for the day. Despite enormous crowds our lovely meal was served with smiles. Will be visiting again.
