Springfield is a tiny town about 70ks from Christchurch heading due west. It is the last town before you head to Arthur's Pass. The motel is adequate. Amber was very welcoming. The room that I had was not large but satisfactory, spotlessly clean with a newly remodelled bathroom. I had flown into Christchurch, picked up the rental car and was... More

Stopped off here as a halfway point between Arthur's Pass and Christchurch. It's a small town with not many options for meals. The room was more like a self contained apartment than a motel room though - it was clean, comfortable and a great size with full kitchen. It was snowing in the mountains when we were there so we... We had only one night here and arrived around 8pm. Love that the reception shut at 9pm. Staff was warm welcome and offer us dvd movies. The Room we booked is bunk bed, quite small but warm and fair enough for the rate. Share bathroom, toilet, kitchen and living room are great! New, modern, clean and tidy. Highly recommended! :)

We were riding a 400km event over Queens Birthday weekend. We had been riding all day but after dark the temperature plummeted to sub-zero. We made a last minute booking while riding through Oxford and did not arrive at the Lodge until 11.50pm. The managers had left the key out for us, our rooms were very comfortable and clean, the... Amazing motel, quiet, modern and clean, brilliant hosts, our room had a spa bath with tiles all around the walls and also stone top in the kitchen which was really nice, the motel is located off the busy highway and has great mountain views. Highly recommend

Lovely host, we were met at reception by a completely, naked chocolate coated toddler and her Mum.The studio was roomy and had one of the best kitchen areas of any motel we've stayed at. Complete cooker, huge fridge/freezer and well equipped with utensils. Lovely bathroom with spa bath/shower. Located in a quiet road off of the main highway making it... More

Travelling with my parents from Kaikoura to Franz Josef, this was the perfect stopping point. We had looked for other places around Oxford but struggled to find something nice AND affordable. We read the reviews and decided to drive straight here. The owners were so kind and welcoming, great wifi available, lovely apartment with good sized bedroom and comfortable sofa... More

We needed a place to stay for 1 night on our drive back to Christchurch. This motel popped up on our GPS when driving through the town at 8pm at night. The owner is very friendly and showed us the rooms available. The room was very clean and well presented. Very comfy beds and plenty of blankets, even an electric... More

Off the main road so nice and quiet. Our room had everything we needed and was quite comfortable. Best of all is friendly atmosphere. Amber was helpful with our trip plans, made sure I had milk for the coffee and was a real sweetie! Thank you Amber.

Almost at the end of our trip, only two nights in this delightful place. Amber was a delightful host who looked after us so well, and was happy to receive a bunch of birthday cards to make a wonderful surprise birthday present. They have clearly put a lot of thought into the layout and equipment of the chalets, which were... More
