Although they kept the grounds immaculate and the weather was great. I felt like I was on stuck on a american compound. 8 year old crappy dance music playing at the pool. Corn dogs and chicken wings on the menu. Inconstant drink quality. Never heard any mexican music at the pool. No real mexican food on the menu. (Unless you...

We just returned from a week in Puerto Vallarta. We stayed at the Mayan Palace in MARINA VALLARTA, not Nuevo Vallarta, however, we were still able to access the Nuevo Location and use the pool, etc., as a change of scenery. We visited there one day and here is what we found about both locations: - Overall, the drink prices...

I'll just put some goods about the hotel with tips. Always exchange your money to peso before spending money. It will end up saving you at least a $100 1. City is far away from the resort. If you are trying to get city life every day, get a room somewhere else. 2. To get to the town, from the...

We are owners at Mayan Palace and we booked 2 2br rooms in Nuevo Vallarta for Feb 7-14. We have a group of friends that we have traveled with in Mexico and we love coming to Nuevo Vallarta. Last trip we made together was in 2007 so we had been looking forward to coming down again in 2009. Thankfully, the...

We stayed for one week in January (yellow building). Although we had a wonderful time visiting with our friends, the hotel itself left something to be desired. We had a ground floor room - with patio doors off the living room and bedroom. Only one small brass clasp for a lock - not very secure. Room smelled musty and was...

We stayed at the Mayan Palace yellow building from January 2 thru the 9th. It was a wonderful time. Friends own a two bedroom timeshare at the Grand Mayan but traded for a two bedroom at the Mayan Palace. We were very happy with the more serene and quiet Hotel. The food at all the eateries was good and with...

Negatives: Not a place for someone who has difficulty walking. Musty and moldy smell in the AC. Often very long wait in order to get a golf cart ride to the front desk area. Train rides around the grounds were available but offered no real service. Positives: Pool and beach were top of the line. Personnel were accomodating and most...

Misc Thoughts We have been to this property before and were anxious to return. We are timeshare owners at this property and we brought friends with us this time. I read all of the posts before leaving and as usual there was the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am always amazed upon my own observations as to how...

Firstly after reading all the reviews just befor our departure ( big mistake ), I actually tried to cancel this resort. We bought a friends timeshare and were under the impression that we were staying at the Grand Mayan. Very disappointed to find out that it was the Palace. Anyway we decided to make the best of it no matter...
