Review collected in partnership with this hotel
Went for a last minute weekend Autumn break late October. Whitbarrow resort was just the ticket. We opted for a two story Duplex apartment in the main hotel building, with a generous terrace overlooking the Cumbrian countryside. Apartment was furnished to the highest standards, a

Came her for a midweek break. It’s a lovely site but most people here are over 60 so by 9pm everyone has left the bar and there is no entertainment.
Accommodation is nice and pool area is good.
Had a slight issue with the pool table as it’s not even so that needs to be rectified.

We came in August and came this month because we loved the hotel. The area is so peaceful and quiet. The staff were friendly on arrival.
The only one change I did notice is in the restaurant. In August it was table service, and had bit of a choice on food, especially on specials

If I don’t drive and I reach the hotel easily? And if travel from London which train station is the closest? Thanks.
No, sorry to say transport is definitely needed for this location. That’s the beauty of it, it’s so close to nature, walks, hills etc. I do believe the nearest train station would be Penrith but I would still suggest you hire a car if you don,t drive because the scenery around this part of the world is best visited with your own transport. Everything in this part of the world goes slowly. I,m sure you will not be disappointed with the hotel and it’s wonderful surroundings. Enjoy!!

Hi looking at booking here for 2 nights for my partners birthday but was just wondering what there is to do locally...places, shops to visit?? thanks
Hi, the hotel is out in the countryside so there isn't much around to walk to. However, lots of places only a quick car ride away. Pooley Bridge is a lovely little village with great pubs and a few little shops. Aria Force waterfall amazing place to visit. Hope this helps.
