Our apartment was large, warm and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant one night which was a weird experience. We asked for a hlaf portion on a main course and were told that we could have it but would have to pay full price. naturally we declined and did not eat there again! There were many other much more...

Whittbarrow is very close to Keswick with beautiful views over the hills. It is close enough to all the towns and facilities of the Lake district, but far enough away to be a very peaceful location. You can relax away from people if you wish or you can visit the restaurant, bar and swimming pool if you want company. We...

Stayed for one night in a fell suite. Great room with good quality of finishings. Plenty of room for the 2 of us. Nice Bose DVD player/radio. Bed could have been bigger as I am over 6 foot but overall no complaints. Weather that evening was very cold and gale force wind blowing outside. Room felt slightly under heated but...

Went to work over the weekend. Was nice and quiet just what I needed. Ate in the bar and food reasonably priced as are the drinks. Some nice pubs locally and a Sainsbury's not too far away. No shop on site but there are fresh eggs for sale in reception. Used to have a beauty therapist on site too but...

The friendly welcome and happy staff made our visit a relaxing and cosy experience. The facilities in the bar, restaurant and pool area were very good. Our lodge was warm, clean and fairly well-appointed, if a little tired and in need of some refurbishment.

Whitbarrow village is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the scenery and chill out. The area is magnificent, the walking, whatever the weather superb. There are lots of places to go see, plenty of great pubs and the food is delicious. Well worth it!

Excellent resort tucked away in the quieter part of the Lake District but close to the shops, restaurants, theatres and tourist facilities in the Ullswater and Derwent Water districts. Also lovely small villages of Caldbeck, Greystoke and Mungrisdale are close by. Make sure you visit the art galley at Beckstones.

I have stayed in the studio's in the main building before and I loved it but this visit I didn't enjoy as much. Our cottage was ok, the kirchen had been refurbished and was brilliant but our bedroom was grim. The mattress was thin and hard, the pillows flat and uncomfortable, as was the duvet, and although the linen was...

“The 3 bedroom properties are very spacious, but the third bedroom has two bunk beds and they are really only suitable for children. If you are older the top bunk bed is difficult to get in and out of and they are a little small for adults”

“When supplying a cot, bedding for it would be good. We used the bunk bed bedding as none was supplied. Be careful in some apartments as there is a step down from the kitchen, easily missed.”
