Stayed as part of c2c walk, breaking up the patterdale to Kirkby Stephen part into three days rather than two. Host was very accommodating, rooms and decor a bit dated but the food was good. Local pub served good evening meals.

We stayed at Mostyn House when doing the Coast to Coast walk. It was OK but not great. The place is tired and needs upgrading to get it to the level we experienced in most other B&Bs on our walk. The room was clean but all of the fittings and bedding were long overdue for a change. The bed was...

Me & a couple of friends stopped here for one night while doing W2W cycle ride i found the rooms very clean & comfortable & the breakfasts were spot on the couple who own the house were very friendly id be very happy to stay there again

After the long day from Patterdale to Shap we decided to split the next leg and stop overnight in Orton. It is a lovely village with enough attractions to occupy you for an hour or so. We stayed in 17 bed and breakfasts on our coast to coast walk and only awarded two of them 3 stars, this was one of them. (the rest were 4's and 5's).
