The building is really interesting inside, worth to see it. We was only at the restaurant and drink coffee, because they have no food, nor desserts (we want try some dessert and coffee). The coffee was fine, but nothing extra and my milk was really interesting inside - like sour cream. The staff was beautiful.

Yes, it’s a beautiful building, but its star rating is way off the mark. Positives: Lovely, old building in attractive grounds. Negatives: In the middle of nowhere with only a small co-op supermarket near by. Food was below average, at best. Expensive. No room service. No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms. You have to pay for every cup of tea/coffee you want. If you don’t have a walk in shower in your room, taking a shower in the bath is lethal. No anti slip mats and steep step into bath. If you want to play pool you have to hire the room by the hour. Spa treatments very limited. Bar area smells stale and of smoke, all the time. In short, spend your hard-earned cash somewhere where everything is much better than this. It isn’t value for money. At all.

My fiancee and I plan to book Chateau Bela for wedding in August 2022 and she initiated contact with the events manager Katarína Dubecová last week to enquire on the package and pricing. She specifically told her that she wants the book the bigger Orangerie Hall even though we have only around 40 guests. She gave her all the pricing but she said she would need to check on the availability of the Orangerie Hall. During the last two days, my fiancee sent her a WhatsApp message again to ask if she has checked but she did not reply. So, I decided to write to the GM, Jürgen Gruber instead this morning to ask if the date was available since she did not reply. She called my fiancee suddenly today to scold her over the email sent. She threatened her and said you will never have a wedding here. She was extremely rude merely because an email was sent to the GM. Worst still, the GM never apologised or replied to my email and instead, Katarina saw the message I sent to the GM which she screenshot and claimed that 'we are very good team together'. We were shocked over how rude she is and we do not advise anyone to organise any wedding there as we believe the standard has dropped so much since COVID-19. We feel sorry for the owner, Ilona Von Krockow who decided to leave such a beautiful chateau to an incompetent team.

We have spent a really nice week at Chateau Béla with friends and family, enjoying the pool, garden and the tennis courts. The rooms are lavish and spacious (although small repairs are needed) and the common areas are really nice (and under-utilised). The architecture, it's focus on detail, picturesque original furniture and interesting history give the place a unique charm. On the flip side, the hotel could benefit from a more intimate relationship between the staff and the space - garden fruit picked and made available to guests in the hallways or at breakfast, waiters more knowledgable about the history and more interested in the local wine and produce, etc. Overall, the staff was nice and helpful, in one case (Carmen) even engaging and knowledgeable, but there were drawbacks as well - some of the waiters were lacklustre, poorly trained and even uninterested in what was going on around them. Even worse, considering the location, Chateau Bela is an expensive getaway - that is, expensive compared to the services provided: the breakfast menu was basic and the catered dinners unimaginative and slowly refilled. A la carte meals were better and partially even cheaper than the catered ones. Local wine prices were far above those in the countrysides of Italy or France! Hence 3/5 stars.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 days, booking a "Castle holiday" offer on their website. First impression upon arrival was great - the whole area and park surrounding the Castle was amazing, as were the interior spaces. After entering the Castle itself though, we were quite surprised by a small, unrepresentative reception hidden behind the corner. The room was nice at first sight, although we noticed immediately that it was truly hot in there (30 degrees Celsius) and there was no AC (in a Deluxe room!!!). After the first night, we requested switching rooms for another one with an AC - we were lucky, as they had one available. With the "Castle holiday" offer came buffet breakfast and 3-course dinner/buffet dinner. Breakfast was nice with a wide selection. Dinner however was a bit disappointing - we did expect more from a Chateau hotel, which offers also Gourmet packages and tastings. The food felt a bit dull and the portions were ridiculously big, given there were three courses served in a row. I have to highlight the desserts though - those were truly AMAZING every evening. The pool area was nice looking too, although did provide only roughly 20 sunbeds (the capacity of the hotel is 44 rooms!!!). On top of that, many families with small children made it impossible to relax in the pool area as advertised by the hotel - there was NOTHING RELAXING about that. One thing I have to mention, as we did travel here during the Covid-19 pandemic times: everywhere in the hotel, there were signs requesting people to wear a face covering when inside, but we were the only ones (plus the stuff) wearing it. I didn't see once that someone from stuff would remind the guests of this, which is a huge failure on their side. Another thing bothering us during the whole stay was smoking allowed on the terraces during dinner, everywhere in the park and around the doors, including pool area. This forced us to stay inside for each dinner, as there were always people smoking on the terrace. Recommendation for the hotel: - separating areas for families with children, so that people seeking relaxation and quiet can truly get it - being more considerate to non-smoking population - being more conscious about the rules set during these days

Great historical property. Rooms are huge and decorated in the medieval style. There is big park in which chateau are located, you can walk through. There is small swimming pool to. Breakfast is great. You can explore common rooms, there are nice decorated. You can sit there, read a book or take a coffe. Only one disappointment is restaurant. Not only expensive, but lack of atmosphere or appropriate dining. But their local wines are great (albeit very expensive = 10e for one glass of wine)

What a wonderful place - it works from many perspectives from hanging with a group of friends, family holiday or (I could imagine!) a romantic getaway. Our host, one of the family members, went to great lengths to ensure we had a fabulous time - a tour of the story-rich property and the grounds was quite a highlight. Delicious food, attentive/friendly service and overall comfort worked really well. I will return!

I have never reviewed a place 1 star and I am shocked by the positive reviews this hotel has, that and the photos were the reasons I stayed here a few months ago with my boyfriend, we payed a lot for the best room and expensive package as it was a very special occasion. The male receptionist was extremely rude to us, it was embarrassing and any time we asked for anything he would not help or was so unhelpful to the point we did not want to ask again. Even when we arrived 30minutes before our check in time, the female receptionist just stated your check in time is not for 30minutes and did not even check if the room was ready and did not understand why we were there yet. I asked could we take a seat and wait and she said ok but didn't even tell us when the room was ready, we had to go back up and ask despite no one else being around so she was not busy and then gave no offer to show us up to our room or help with bags, she just handed us the key saying yes it is ready now. We later asked the male receptionist where the included afternoon tea as part of our package was and he looked at us so confused and said in the bar quite rudely. We went in to the bar and the barman was very nice so we ordered the tea, he seemed confused and after we were billed for it, apparently it was in the restaurant, not bar. Most of the amenities we looked forward to using were not available- you had to pay he told us if we wanted to use the snooker table, he could not get the indoor cinema to work, the outdoor pool was closed as it was out of season which was fine but the indoor one was not even warm and the gym had 2 archaic things in it so we didn't even bother use them despite having not much to do, the sauna was not on and the bath water was brown due to the water in the well so not appealing. There is no room service and the place was quite dusty. The room was very big and the dining room quite pretty, the grounds were nice to walk around so there was some positives but honestly overall, I really regretted spending the money to come here and not go somewhere else and felt quite maltreated and embarrassed and my boyfriend felt the same and we are not normally picky customers so I don't understand how so many people had such positive reviews...
