I had stayed here in 2019 and it was decent.. since the rate was good I decided to give it another try. I knew the beach would be smaller but this time it was unusable. Full of seaweed and rocks. Those two poor guys cleaning up could not keep up. I had asked to be put close together. However they only accomodates two rooms and changes my handicap sister to the first floor far from pool and us. The rooms were outdated but comfortable. I had booked my reservationa via catalonia and did not received any upgrades. I did inquired about it and was told it would come at a price. Ok I decided to think about it and the following night I witnessed a front desk offering a complimentary upgrade to a family for a two bed room suite and upgrade to privilege. I mentioned it to my sister and she inquired about it. At first the same agent denied knowing about any such upgrade. When I confronted her that I had witnessed it her story changed. I did received a complimentary visit to Beloved for dinner which is included with Privilege upgrade. To my dismay the dinner was horrible. The food was cold and we did not like the food quality. Service was good and shared our feedback with server. The Brisa buffect was poor and small variety. Hardly any good Mexican food.. NO GUACAMOLE!!! We ate breakfast at Mercado and it was good. The specialty restaurants we enjoy the most was the Mexican. Food was quick, good, and good service. The pool bars and Abuelo Bar were good. The third night the AC went out in the building and had to be moved to another building. We had to wait for 30 minutes for a new room. The front desk agents were not accomodating and would not take requests to keep together or be in the same building. The agents were very confrontational. The concierge discourage us from taking the 22 dollar covid test and offer the pricier options that were done by the same people. I went with the Diemsa option thatvwe booked our selves and got the results the same day. Book as soon as you get there since slots fill up. I would not stay here again or recommend.

Kind of panicked with some recent bad reviews but our stay for our family was quite well. We were able to get all the reservations we wanted for the most part and the food was good. Entertainment was very good, and all the bar staff was excellent and made you feel super welcome. The pool would get filled up quickly but we were early risers so we were able to always get a spot. The beach did have seaweed but July-August does have red tide and they did have a crew trying to manage it. My boyfriends family did have their AC go out but they did get them a new room quickly. We also had a leak behind our sink but we didn’t really mind. Other than that, it was an overall good stay!

We were put here by a travel agent making me never want to use one again. We showed up in the late evening due to delayed flights and the front desk staff could not have been more disinterested or unfriendly. The front looked like it was old and not taken care of. Fountains were off and the pools empty leaving it looking dirty and old. Same with the ones inside. The lobby was filled with loud, drunk guys which is not a huge deal but being the start of a family vacation, it want a good sign. My 18 and 20 year old daughters went to try to find the beach, while we sat and waited for the front desk to help us, and was catcalled by more than one male. We finally got to our rooms(no where near each other after we specifically asked for adjoining or at least next door to each other) and when we opened our daughters curtains, they looked right into the concierge desk. So anyone sitting there could see in their room. There in no real beach, it’s a boardwalk with rocks. A small beach is off to the side and would get crowded quick. We were SO unhappy, we actually checked out and moved resorts. Also when we were checking in there was another family that was complaining about being sold on the online pictures that were not being advertise correctly.

The hotel is well located in a nice neighbourhood with access to kayaks and a nice beach. The room that was assigned was pretty old with bad odor and there was a water leak in the bathroom. Food quality is bellow the average and there is plenty of noisy people

Upon arrival to the resort, we were not greeted with our welcome drinks as per our reservation. We were quickly whisked away to a pop-up check-in station away from the lobby. Once there, the check-in process was incredibly rushed and at no point were we given a comprehensive overview of the amenities the hotel provided, calendar of events, or information regarding dining services. We were basically asked to pay the resort fee and were given key-cards for towel service while we had to wait for our room to be ready (which took an additional 3 hours). Since we had time to kill, we decided to inquire about the mandatory covid tests (required to enter back into the USA) and restaurant dining. The guest services representative gave us a piece of paper with instructions to complete the reservation for a covid test. The test was to be administered on site and was complimentary for guests (I had to show proof that it was marked complimentary on my hotel reservation). Next, the guest services representative indicated that we were only allowed to eat at the ala carte restaurants twice for dinner. Any other dinners we wished to have at the ala carte restaurants would cost more money. This was NOT something that was indicated on our reservation nor listed on CheapCarribean.com (the service we booked this trip through). Needless to say, we were stunned and incredibly disappointed. Rather than get in an argument with guest services within the first 20 minutes of being at the resort, my partner and I decided to just roll with it and decided to go for a walk while we waited for our room to be ready. While walking around the resort, there was a notably stench coming from the mountains of seaweed washed up on the shore. This is something that I do not fault the resort for, however, it certainly didn't help matters when we were already stressed about the dinner reservation news. We ended up grabbing lunch at the buffet. The food was mediocre at best. Eventually, we were able to check-in. The only request we had put on our reservation was to NOT be on the first floor. Well, of course that is were they put us. On the first floor, right next to the cleaning woman's closet. Again, we decided to roll with it since we didn't want to ruin our first day at the resort arguing with the front desk. That same day, I went through the process to book our mandatory covid tests. When we showed up the morning of our test, there was nobody there to administer it. Seeing as how we needed this test to re-enter our own country, we were relatively panic stricken. We immediately went to the front desk to inquire about where our test giver had gone. Front desk had no clue, but said to check at the on site medical center. So we did. Nobody would answer the door. We then decided to speak to guest services (the same department that gave us the news of no more than 2 dinner reservations). When we explained that we had a reservation for the test, the guest services representative showed no remorse. Instead he resorted to saying we could take it another day and also tried making it seem like we were taking it too early. Absolutely no accountability. The representative then said that the test giver is a "vendor" that the hotel has come on site as a courtesy for guests. I had to explain that they may be an outside vendor, but it is still a vendor that YOUR resort decided to offer services to YOUR guests. The guest services representative did not care though. After 30 minutes of waiting around, the guest services manager finally was able to get the man administering the tests on the phone and come back to the lobby to administer the test. When I insisted that the hotel give us another reservation for this inconvenience, the guest service representative said absolutely not (EVENTHOUGH the people that we checked-in with were able to get an additional reservation.) After the horror of the covid-test ordeal, we tried to make best of the remainder of our stay. The restaurants that we were able to eat at ala carte were good, but not great. The buffet was abysmal except for our last evening. Don't be fooled by the false advertising of 24 hour room service. Room service ended at 10:30pm. Bars closed at 11. No snacks or anything after that point. Incredibly dangerous to have guests boozing it up all day and into the night and to not provide any sort of sustenance. We asked where the ice machine is so we could fix ourselves some drinks in our room -- and the front desk said we had to go to the bar (during party hours) and ask the bartender to fill up our ice bucket. We were already in our pajamas. After close to a week at the resort, we were 100% ready to head back home. Positives of the resort -- wait staff and bar staff were incredibly friendly. Location nearby lots of excursion opportunities. Resort within a gated community -- nice to walk around and check out some local attractions/shops. We will never stay at this resort again based solely off their complete lack of accountability on behalf of the for falsely advertising dining options (not truly all inclusive) and for lack of admitting to their mistakes.
