We stayed 4 nights at Catalonia Riviera and had a good time, mostly because of the friendliest staff! Oscar was the best bartender, he tried to kill us with the tequila shots every night. We met Lorenza on our last night at Bloved and she was an absolute ROCKSTAR waitress, she made our last night our best! All 4 of these stars are for the amazing staff! We were disappointed by the weird restaurant and bar hours and having to make a reservation a day ahead of time at the privileged restaurants. The website makes it seem like there are a lot of restaurant choices but in reality, they’re not all open everyday. Very weird for an all inclusive resort. Thank you Oscar and Lorenza and the rest of the staff at Catalonia Riviera for helping us enjoy our stay even though we were disappointed by the poor management.

This was our 4th familly trip to this hotel. There is so much to love about the place and the area, but the people and the service makes this place particularly special to us, and keeps us returning to it. I must say that this year the highlight of the trip was scuba diving with my son. It was his first dive (he reached minimum required age) and I could not have imagined it any better. We were blessed with good weather, great visibility under watter---amazing fish of all kinds--including a small shark. The professionalism of the crew, Andreas (instructor) attention to details allowed us to a have very relaxing and and unforgetable experience. We were also lucky to have a very skilled camera man (Tomas) who importalized this under-water experience for us on camera :)

My boyfriend and I spent 5 days at Catalonia with the Privilege package and overall it was a very great time, the privilege restaurants such as Bloved, the Japanese and breakfast area El Mercado (only open on the weekends) were our favorites. Just a heads up, to all of the privileged restaurants you need to make a reservation beforehand in order to make sure you have a spot! The only bad experience we had was when we tried the buffet, if you can I would recommend to stay clear and choose the nicer restaurants. Since we had a romance package we were able to try the Alegria Spa for a 30 minute free massage and if you wanted a bit more time you had the opportunity to pay an extra $30 for a total of 50 minutes, which we did and it was amazing! The spa has a sauna, a steam room with Eucalyptus, and a spa circuit pool (picture attached) along with a workout area inside. The spa was amazing and if you have the opportunity I would highly recommend, perfect place to relax! All of the staff is amazing, friendly, and extremely hardworking and you can really tell they are doing their best given the pandemic and overall business. Some of our favorite staff were bartenders Pedro and Manuel, if you see them they automatically treat you like they’ve known you forever, it was a pleasure to have met them! House keeping was awesome they created an animal every day which was cute and fun to see everyday and always gave us fresh towels, toilet paper, etc! We went kayaking, snorkeling, mini golf, and they have activities going on every week! We went to a rock show and Disney themed show which were really cool! Overall, it was a great getaway and we even went outside the resort (super safe gated area) to shops and even switched it up some days and ate outside of the resort which was sooo good, outside of the resort we highly recommend La Caleta we had some amazing shrimp tacos. We enjoyed our stay at Catalonia, we recommend to those who are looking for a fun and chill atmosphere.

This was maybe our third or fourth visit to this resort and will be our last. The property is in quite a state of disrepair. The bed was terrible. My adult daughter and I were forced to share a king bed, when upon check-in we were told that the 2 doubles we had requested were unavailable. We were offered a rollaway for the first night and then were told we could come down the next day an be moved to a double, however the rollaway never materialized and we tried for 3 days to get moved before finally giving up. Housekeeping only showed up half the days we were there. The bars do not open until 11:30am, so it is impossible to get even a soft drink before then. The buffet is not open all day so you have to abide by mealtimes. There is a crepe shack open that has a limited menu of sandwiches and ice cream, but the grill that has always been available when we have been there before is now exclusive to the new Privileged package. Thankfully we didn't have kids with us this time that often require snacks during the day as there wasn't anywhere to accommodate that. The food was sub-par, and from one meal to the next appeared to be recycled from the day before. Even the ala carte restaurants were disappointing. My daughter has a wheat allergy and no one seemed to know how to accommodate that, offering her minimal options. I suspect more out of fear and ignorance than actual ingredients containing gluten. She fared better at the buffet where she could evaluate for herself. Our recommendation would be that you pass this resort by. There are much nicer places for the same price.

Pro Tip - Upgrade to Privilaged Package so you get the perks of having use of all pools and private beach seating. We first arrived later on Sunday so we grabbed dinner at LaBrista buffet- good selection of foods. We ate breakfast every morning here - fresh made omelets were our favorite along with the variety of different juices. Our room was nice - comfortable bed and great view of the courtyard from our balcony which we enjoyed sitting on every morning and evening after watching the band in the hotel bar. We spent every day sitting under an umbrella by the pool, which is where we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Pedro. He was always there with refills of our alcoholic beverages. Such an amazing and hard working man! We also rented a golf cart for 3 days so we could drive around the area of Puerto Adventuras. The men at the front entrance were very helpful in contacting the owners of the golf carts for us. This was one of the most relaxing vacations i have been on in awhile. Defiantly recommend and will defiantly be back!

Dear guest, First, thank you very much for giving us this valuable opportunity to serve you in the Riviera Maya, it has been a pleasure. We are delighted to read that your experience has been completely positive, and that the room has been enjoyed along with all its benefits. Without a doubt, the upgrade to any Privileged category is a set of benefits that appeal to our guests both in and out of the room; BLoved, among them, with its menu and adorable ocean view enchants everyone who visits it. On the other hand, from your observations, we are pleased to read that the gastronomic offer has achieved this recognition, during the last years we have been working on the quality of food, but above all, on the challenges of the different diets that some of our visitors choose, we really appreciate you pointing this out. Finally, dear guest, we are very happy with your contribution and delighted with your kind recommendation, of course we hope you will return very soon, it will be a pleasure to serve you and again achieve a wonderful result like this. Kind regards,
