We were in porthtowen for a long weekend break and although we had a self catering apartment, we could'nt resist a walk to the pub. What a surprise. the pub looks a little jaded from the outside, but has been modernised by the two new owners to great effect. I had the steak and ale pie and my wife had...

Ate here with my family several times whilst staying in Porthtowan. The food is great, home made and delicious. Portions are good and you can wash it down with a good choice of beer of wine. Staff are really welcoming and the environment is very relaxed, child and dog friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit.

After having a lovely walk on Porthtowan beach with the dog called into the Unicorn for a drink on 29th Dec. There was a good selection of craft beers and also very good coffee. The landlord was very welcoming and enthusiastic about recently taking over the business. They were getting the decorations ready for their New Year's Eve event which...

We visited this pub as part of out stay in porthtowan and we're not disappointed I had the bacon and blue cheese burger which was superb, my wife had the dirty fries her only complaint was she would have preferred skinny chips. Our son went for the pig pizza which was great and even he could not finish it!!!!!! If...

Stayed here for one night and it was ideal. Staff friendly and accommodating. Double room was clean and tidy. Can't beat the view in the morning whilst eating a well cooked breakfast. Great location for the beach.

Ate here while staying locally. Looked clean and there was a good selection of beers and other drinks. The menus was just your basic pub food. We opted for steak pie with a shot crust top with chips and vegetables. When it arrived it was with a flaky pastry top chips carrots and green. All was fine and nothing special....

After recently being on holiday in Cornwall and visiting for many many years , we decided to try your establishment, 1 because of reviews and 2 because we have wonderful memories of the place when it was  The Commodore.  Extremely disappointed I'm sad to say. I know times have changed but standards most definitely have deteriorated. Poor seating areas, dirty...

Lovely place, laid back atmosphere and right next to the park. The menu caters REALLY well for vegetarians and vegans, unlike so many places. Plus I have been told the Dirty Chicken is incredible!! Worth a visit. While you visit the beach in Porthtowan.

the rooms were nice and clean but basic, Although there was no wardrobe or mirror in the bedroom, but there was a small mirror in the bathroom. Comfy bed. The food was ok but a bit overpriced. Staff were friendly and pleasant, It would suit young people who love to surf as its yards from the beach

As frequent visitors to Cornwall, this used to be our favourite pub however has now changed its interior from retro to more classic, and the music has changed which was one of the elements which made it a lovely atmosphere. The staff are still friendly and kind, and the food is still tasty as ever! It is also in an...
