My family took my husband and I to The Fox for dinner. A beautiful and quaint 17th Century Coaching Inn, it is everything you'd expect from a country Inn in the U.K. However there is a difference to the usual Inns one would expect here. The food! Oh my! Plentiful and yummy doesn't come close. I don't usually eat a... More

We booked a family room as we had to look after our grandchildren overnight. The room was very clean, we had a double bed and the grandchildren shared a sofa bed. Continental breakfast was provided in the room, cereal, juice and croissants. In our opinion they should get a new supplier for the croissants as the ones we had were... More

Stayed last night while visiting Harlow for a 50th birthday party and so glad I found this place! Accommodation (twin room) was wonderful and had everything we needed - very clean, beds & bed linen very comfortable. We had a fridge which contained fresh milk, croissants, butter and ham plus a selection of cereal, tea & coffee. We had the... More

Been here a few times with my parents for lunch - it is one of their favourites as a result of the food and meal deals for pensioners. The main menu rarely changes but it is extensive and there are always specials available. The portions are extremely generous. Regular favourites are the pies and the veg lasagne all with chips... This is a regular haunt of ours, 45 minutes drive through verdant countryside and chocolate box lid villages crammed with vernacular Essex cottages away it is an easy choice. The menu is average in scale for a bistro pub but the portions are generous and the food arrives hot and well presented. During this visit they were very busy and... More

The first time here, lovely old pub in the country, We had Lasagne, best ever, and Chicken, bacon and mushroom pie, both big meals, but there was a big menu, plus specials boards, so lots to choose from. We arrived about 1pm and it was fairly quiet, but it soon got very busy, so it might be a good idea... More

Visited this beautiful Olde World Pub with four other friends. for lunch. We arrived late after getting lost but we phoned ahead as it was getting near to closing time and ordered our meals. Our meals were ready and waiting for us and I must say they were all extremely tasty. I sampled the chicken pie with vegetables and it... More

Lovely Inn, really nice room with all you need for a good sleep. Modern furnishings. Lovely having facilities for breakfast in the room. Quite a way out down narrow country lanes, but worth a visit. Friendly owners.

We met up on Sunday to have the traditional Roast the meat and yorkshires were excellent but disappointing roast potatoes were very few and hard not crispy, likewise the vegetables were undercooked in our opinion The starters & sweets were both ok.The staff where very pleasant throughout.
