We had a great stay here at Bekou. Was a pleasure to meet the staff, especially Stephon, he was genuinely interested in us, our country and the politics which was very nice. We booked a private double room and were lucky enough to have a room with a double bed and a bunk bed so we had lots of extra space. The breakfast was delicious, the man cooking fresh pancakes brought one to me after realising I only had one on my plate before filling the serving plate which I thought was really kind and observant of him. I really liked the kitchen to cook in, it’s large, very well equipped and clean. We would stay here for longer if we didn’t have a flight booked. Thank you again Hostel Bekou.

I've been hosting for 40 days here. Such a terrifying nightmare experience. The manager was pretty rude and dishonest. He tried to rent my room, full of my stuff and duly paid in advance, when I was travelling for a week. Once realized the misdeed, I left the hostel. Prior to that, I had to argue with him for getting my money back, in vane. The man showed an insane attitude, getting aggressive and unable to maintain a civilized behaviour. Zero professionalism. Customer focus widely missed. Administrative reclaims were opportunely notified by my lawyer against the management, also according to further problems I experienced, such as: - No invoices released to me. Besides, impossible to pay by credit card. - Terrifying health situation with presence of rats inside the building, including kitchen and sheets closet. The management was acknowledged, but didn't remedy to that. - Very bad wi-fi connection. In particular, I paid a hostelling service which included the room wi-fi. My room wasn't covered by wi-fi for all the time, despite my continuous complaints to the management to provide the services sold. The hostel sold me an incomplete service at full price. Absolutely unrecommendable.

The title says it all. We got a private room and they gave us 4 bunk beds for 2 people. The room had broken tiles and dust, stains on the curtains, blanket and mattress, was very dark, and was right near the kitchen. I was up all night and couldn't sleep as people kept making food even after midnight. Please implement your hostel policy about quiet hours seriously! Also, the wifi didn't work and the breakfast was absolutely terrible and consisted of one small pancake and 3-4 banana pieces per person. It was truly sad and I will never come back to this hostel. The only positive was that the front desk guy was really nice and it's in a safe location but that's it. There are much better hostels in San Jose (and even in the same neighbourhood) at the same prices.

Stayed here for a night in a private room. Hostel is in a nice and calm location, close to the a few supermarkets and not a long walk away from downtown. It's a clean place with a spacious and well equiped kitchen. Staff was very friendly. Would stay here again.
