Just back from a lovely weekend at the Sun Bay Hotel. This is a great little hotel in a really lovely location. What made this hotel stand out for us was the staff. They are attentive, friendly and approachable. The Christmas decorations went up on Saturday and the places looks lovely. The hotel has a festive hot chocolate menu and I...

This stay was a chance taken in light of some reviews. The rooms and public areas could do with an interior designer taking charge , however, the views are superb and we found the staff excellent , helpful and in particular the waiter totally dedicated to his job - he was a credit to the hotel - very professional throughout....

We had a fabulous weekend at the Sun Bay Hotel, staying in the balcony room with stunning sea views! Our room was first class, clean and modern with no problems. The staff were all excellent and very accommodating. Michelle, our host, was very cheerful and friendly and nothing was too much. Nuno, the waiter in the restaurant, was very friendly,...

Great location, and some very pleasant, helpful staff. So what went wrong? Lousy soft bed meant little sleep in a back room in need of tlc and a major refurbishment, including an ensuite whose door looked like a dog had clawed it to bits which you could contemplate from a loose and wobbly toliet. Not seat, a wobbly toilet. No...

Great for people with dogs as the place is ideal for walks on the beach. But once back at the hotel your pooches can even join you for dinner if you sit in the conservatory. The rooms aren't huge but have everything you need and fantastic views.

We stayed here for 3 nights having a superior twin which was probably one of the best rooms in the hotel (No.7). It was a large end room with a double aspect overlooking the Hope Cove (inner) We dined at the hotel for all 3 nights, and enjoyed a sirloin steak, baked hake, and a snack Panini. Our evening meals...

The hotel is in a beautiful position , overlooking the sea. The couple who ran the hotel; a husband and wife team called Antol and Edit were an absolute delight. Nothing was too much trouble for them and were so welcoming. The first two rooms we were shown were rather in need of severe modernising starting with the faded wall...

I have just spent one night at this hotel, booked last minute after a day in Salcombe. it is certainly not perfect, especially the bedrooms which are in dire need of an update (room4) it felt as though I was sleeping in my Granny's bedroom in the fifties and also with a postage stamp TV and hit and miss remote...
