The Hope and Anchor In is set in the popular and unique old fishing village of Hope Cove, here in the South Hams of Devon. With breathtaking scenery, you really will be spoilt for choice. Obviously, the area is renowned for it's clifftop walks and on a blustery day, there really is nothing better than a walk around the miles of unspoilt coastline and countryside to invigorate the spirit. All our bedrooms are en-suite, mostly of which have breathtaking views of Bigbury Bay. There is a lovely area outside with tables and umbrellas so you can enjoy the atmosphere of Hope Cove whilst enjoying our fine ales, lunch or an evening meal. Situated yards from the sea teeming with maritime atmosphere our friendly Inn caters for all.

This is our second visit in two years. Excellent accommodation, very comfortable, superbly decorated and an added bonus is very dog friendly. The only two things I would change is brighter lighting near one of the bedroom mirrors and a slightly wider choice in menu (very limited if staying for longer than a short break). Staff very friendly & accommodating would like to mention Cameron, Alan and Dorian in particular who were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend, beautiful sea views.

The Hope and Anchor is a great place to stay, immaculate rooms, friendly and attentive staff plus good food. What else could one want. Highly recommended. Great location just off the south west coastal path and literally a stones throw from the beach

What a find! Brilliant location, very good service, great food and the Tribute was in excellent condition. I’ll be back and bring my partner next time. Was trying to keep this short but it seems I have to write a minimum of two hundred characters!

What a pleasure to retreat to the cosy, warm interior of The Hope and Anchor, Hope Cove after a long day painting outdoors and be met with the friendly hospitality of the pub’s staff. I was well looked after by Andy, who brought me tea and delicious cake, and who even arranged that I could paint the interior. Cameron, one of the young waiters even paused at a table so I could quickly paint him! As the pub is so dog friendly I will definitely be back for a stay with my husband and dog, rest assured we will get the best welcome.
