Great location for sport fishing. One can walk across the street to meet your charter boat. Besides the onsite Georges Restaurant there a several quaint restaurants within a close walk. The staff is very responsive and helpful in many matters. The courtyard pool proved to be relaxing.
La Marina Inn was one of the worst experiences I have had in a long time. Food prep and not wearing masks during covid, no coffee in the morning after being promised, bad internet, lots of noise from staff yelling to one another at night and the morning. The list is endless of things that made the experience unpleasant. When I saw the food being prepared without masks in the morning, I asked for a refund for the second night so I could find another safer hotel. I was denied the refund. Sadly since it wasn't that much to ask for considering the health code violation in the restaurant. Has potential and the manager was effective but the rest of the staff was not as well trained on the covid violations and basic customer service.
We had a wonderful experience at La Marina Inn. It has a cute and cozy boutique hotel feel. The staff was wonderful. All staff we encountered were warm and welcoming. From the waiters at George’s to the hotel staff. We were going to be arriving on my sons birthday so I messaged them beforehand to see if they could do something for him. When we arrived the room was decorated with a birthday banner and balloons. He was so surprised! Later that night a birthday cake with a candle was brought to the room for him. The front desk also called different rental car companies and compared prices for us and had them bring us a car to the hotel. The only negative thing that I encountered but it has nothing to do with La Marina Inn was the “partnership” with El Ganzo Hotel. My understanding was that the hotel guests from the sister hotel The Marina Inn are allowed to use the pool facilities and the beach club if there is availability. What I didn’t know is that there is a charge of 65 dollars per person to use the pool. We had dinner one night at George’s and it was lovely. We enjoyed live music by this duet who sang heavenly. They play Fridays and Mondays so we got lucky. We also got to enjoy happy hour 2x1 drinks by the pool in the afternoon. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend La Marina Inn!…
So I'm not one to easily grant a 5-star review, but this little gem earned every bit of it! After a few too many months of quarantine in a house full of 3 kids and 4 dogs, we decided a staycation was in order. On the recommendation of a friend, we decided to try out La Marina Inn. While I'll admit, we usually go the "large resort hotel" route, we were so happy that we ventured "off the beaten path" with this wonderful little spot in San Jose del Cabo. Literally across the street from the beach, this charming little property boasts some of the best hosts in hospitality. Enrique runs the bar/restaurant "George's" and is both personable and professional. Cony (like "Connie"), the Inn's hostess, always has a smile on her face and is eager to assist with everything from room amenities to recommendations. Together, the place almost seems family run, with all the guests welcomed as extensions of the family. The rooms are updated and comfortable with ice cold AC (important during the summer months). The property is older, but very well maintained and enclosed in almost a hacienda-style manner. Included in our stay, was access to the El Ganzo Hotel's beach club & restaurant. This is a wonderful little serviced beach with attentive wait staff and more than reasonable (think only one $) pricing. While a bit cheesy, the kids loved the little 2 minute tender boat experience between our side, and the beach club side of the cove. We ate most meals @ La Marina's restaurant "George's" which was exceptional. With super reasonable prices, excellent food quality, a fully stocked bar, and attentive yet non-obtrusive service, this has already become a favorite eatery of mine in Los Cabos. All in all, if you are looking for a charming, well priced, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay in Los Cabos... La Marina Inn is it!…
My wife and I recently got married in San Jose del Cabo and being that we're from the States, we needed a place for all of our friends and family to stay leading up to and following the wedding. When looking for hotels suitable for our needs (enough rooms for the immediate family and bridal party, proximity to the wedding venue, proximity to food and entertainment and preferable rates), we stumbled across La Marina and I'm SO grateful that we did. Our initial interactions with the La Marina staff were very easy over the phone and after a lot of back and forth on our part around what we needed, we eventually ironed out a full venue buyout for the guests and ourselves. Normally a process like this would be miserable; assigning rooms with names across language barriers and timezones is never fun, however Anna Laura and her team were absolute angels. Upon arrival, checkins for 40+ people went super smoothly and we were greeted with beverages as we were signing into our rooms. The rooms were beautiful and housekeeping even left chocolate dipped fruit for my wife and I. As you might imagine, after traveling all day, the group was starving so we hit George's downstairs for a quick bite. The service and food at George's was unbelievable and that trend continued the whole time we were there. We had pretty much everything over the 5 days we were there and we were impressed with all of it. Pro tip: Get the ceviche for lunch and machaca omelette for breakfast! On the night of the wedding, my wife and I returned from the venue and retired to our room where we discovered that the staff at La Marina had laid out rose pedals and origami swans on the bed, along with some sweet treats. If we weren't already in love with this place, that sealed the deal for us. We were sad to leave La Marina when all was said and done but I'd easily recommend this place to anyone interested in coming so San Jose del Cabo. Everything from start to finish was like something out of a dream and thanks to how well oiled La Marina is, a lot of the typical stress around a destination wedding was almost non-existent. Highlights: Very professional and attentive staff, beautiful location, fantastic restaurant downstairs, walking distance to the beach, close to all the best restaurants and bars in the area. 10/10!…
