This place is really beautiful and well-decorated. The restaurant attached is absolutely delicious. Only thing that was a bit weird was that the bathrooms in the rooms are not closed off. So if you are sharing a room with anyone, they can hear/smell your business. It's a bit of an awkward set up and I don't know why they don't just fully close the wall off instead of making it a half wall.
I loved this inn. Very quiet and clean. The staff was very pleasant, the location was excellent. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because the web site says there is a restaurant, there is not. The lounge chairs at the pool need replaced and the tile at the top of the pool needs cleaned. The gardens are beautiful with many birds chirping
If you’re looking to get away from the large package tourist resorts and stay in the old, historic part of San Jose, this is your spot. Beautiful hotel that is separated into two separate buildings. The rooms are large and well appointed… No issues with cleanliness or noise. The staff was absolutely welcoming and kind, the pool was nice but could use a little bit of cleaning. If you enjoy the old downtown area, you won’t find a better location to stay in… You can walk to art galleries, restaurants, bars and the town square easily. Very safe area with a wonderful little taco and Mezcal restaurant directly across the street with live music on the weekends (try the mezcal sampler!!) Absolutely love this place and plan on it being my “go to” hotel for my frequent dive trips that leave out of the SJC harbor.…
This is a really lovely hotel, but the suites which have the small kitchen are set away from the hotel. They are adjacent to a restaurant being built and the noise is 24/7 drilling late into the night and much of the day . Avoid at all costs until totally finished. They offered to move us but as they don’t serve breakfast (which is not in the hotel - but few minutes walk down the road) until 9am, we need the kitchen for 6am start for diving). It’s also worth noting there is no bar or pool service so it’s bring your own. The staff are lovely and I will be coming back and but would, take rooms in the main hotel.
My wife and I stayed here for one week, trying something different from the all inclusives which we have enjoyed in previous years. We booked early through the hotel Into a poolside suite, taking advantage of the “spring special”, later realizing that we were paying more than anyone else at the resort. (Book through Expedia to get better rates) The place was almost empty the entire week we were there. The grounds and rooms are lovely. What we didn’t know was there is no spa at the resort. The website is very misleading. They haven’t had one for sometime even though it is called Inn and Spa. We also weren’t told that there is no longer a restaurant or pool bar so the inclusive breakfast was a walk down the street to the Jazmin restaurant where we daily had to deal with staff who were trying to sort out how to deal with our chit! This became a daily chore which we did not look forward to. The front desk were of no help. Our confirmation letter even stated there was a Spa and two restaurants. So misleading. And of course with no bar we had to shop for our own liquor to store in our fridge for the week. Few other items. You can hear everything in the room above. Ceiling in the room leaks during rain. Ice and water must be refilled by walking to the front desk. All in all not what we paid for. We will not stay here again.…
