First time to Riu Santa Fe for Christmas 2018. This was a Sunwing all inclusive package trip. The property appears well kept, but for Christmas week, it seemed to be understaffed during meals. The pools are nice when you get there early enough. The infinity...More
This resort is incredible. Having stayed at the Riu Palace before in Cancun. I was worried that this would be worse, in terms of food, cleanliness, etc. but it was amazing. The food was delicious (however many of the sit-down restuarants were closed and/or only...More

Our first impression of the Riu Sante Fe was very impressive. We had a warm reception with margaritas, the grounds were beautiful, our room was simple yet nice. The food was somewhat lacking.. Many of our meals were "okay-ish" but nothing to write home about....More
This was our 3rd trip to this hotel. We traveled here in April, Sept, and Jan. We love the location and like the hotel in general. Rooms are clean, pools are well maintained, grounds immaculate. The location of this hotel is such that it allows...More

There are taxis or local buses into Cabo San Lucas. Check with others in the lobby to see if you can share the cost of a cab and you will save some $$ alternatively, take the local bus - cheap (maybe 20 pesos). The white school bus stops at the main gate to the resort and it will have the destinations written on the windshield in white. They will head out to the highway and seem to be going in the wrong direction but are simply going to the nearest 'returno' and will then take you into the Marina district. On the way back to the resort - make sure the bus has RUI written on the windshield. These white school buses are local and if you are hoping to go into San Jose del Cabo you will have to take the bigger bus....purple/orange - which you can catch at the Liquido stand on the service road. I can't speak to the excursion question you asked but as the other reviewer mentioned, beach vendors are probably not your best option / and most leave from Medano beach which is a bit of a hike down the beach.
