We joined friends and family for a birthday celebration at this B&B in a Georgian rectory just the other side of Exmoor in Devon. It's set in lovely countryside near the National Trust property Arlington Court and has a beautiful garden. The house is a perfect example of its type - it could be a set for filming a Jane...

Vivian who runs the place could not have been more helpful. The house is rather old and really needs some attention. It felt rather like stay with Grandma with cats allowed to roam all over the place, no locks on the bedroom doors. Highly polished wood floors with lots of rugs - Utterly lethal At £90 it is overpriced and...

Brilliant location, nice and quiet but close to the coast and barnstaple. Lovely family run place. Vivienne couldn't do enough for us, the the two nights that we were there. It was a very welcoming and friendly stay indeed, I recommend.

Stayed here with family for a few days in August. The house is beautiful, lots of original features and the most well kept garden to sit outside and have your morning tea. Vivienne (owner) was friendly and cooked full English breakfasts every day that was served in the grand dining room. Rooms were large, we also had a great bath...

Upon arrival there was no one to greet us. We were left walking around looking for someone. Our rooms were stale and mound smelling, had damp bedding, and the drawers had crumbs in them. The rooms were generally filthy. Cobwebs and spiders everywhere. I know it's the middle of the country but one expects the rooms to be cleaned/cleared for...

Great place to stay, rooms are very spacious, great breakfast, nice hosts, easy access to surrounding villages and place to visit eg. Lynmouth, steam railway, valley of rocks etc. In the evening places to eat are limited, although the Pyne Arms is a 5 minute drive and has a wide range of dishes. Alternatively you can travel 15 minutes to...

Family run Hotel with very friendly hosts'. Comfortable rooms with ensuite facilities, our room had a lovely large bed and unusual 'open' ensuite. The gardens are particularly pretty with a stream running through them and a pond. Great for exploring North Devon.

Was presented with a very dusty room with coffee pot with only enough for one cup if you dare chance it covered in dust, a kettle that was so dirty it was brown inside, cobwebs everywhere, mould on the ceiling, rugs that were dirty and thread bare. Landlady was friendly. The gardens were well kept which is all very well...

A recommended B&B in a stylish, spacious country house with beautiful gardens and far reaching views over the North Devon countryside. Our stay was enhanced by the relaxed, friendly welcome of owners Viviane & Robert. Our room was spacious & light. The bed was comfortable with crisp white cotton bedding. Breakfast was nicely cooked served in the lovely bright dining...

Very well located to explore North and Northwest Devon, and Exmoor National Park. Useful tips and hints from Viviane. Viviane is right to be proud about her beautiful buidling and simply superb garden. We had a very spacious and agreeable bedroom, but very small and outdated bathroom, so that was a bit disappointing. Good breakfast, without being exceptional. Overall perhaps...
