Not one for leaving many reviews however would just like to say we had a 10/10 meal with the Seaview tavern on 3rd Oct. Was a wet and wild Monday night however the food was delicious. Best seafood chowder i have eaten and ive had a few. the hake was superb. My wife has crab linguine and loved it. Will definitely return. We were staying in motorhome and the owners kindly let us use the car park overnight.

We dined here on recommendation from our bed and breakfast owner. We were not disappointed. Very wonderful seafood dinner and wonderful gourmet type food on menu. We sat at a window table with a fantastic view of the “sea”!

I'd looked around for somewhere special to treat my hubby for his birthday as work commitments we never get the time off together. The 40 min drive seemed so worthwhile as we pulled up to the Seaview Tavern as the views really are breathtaking.
We were 'greeted' by the hostess with a "yes" as I said my name she marched off with a "follow me", left our menus at the table and walked off. Not the best of starts at all! Our server however was so pleasant and we discussed she should be greeting customers rather than the woman who was there! (Receipt said Aoife so thank you if that was you)
Being seafood fans we were excited by the menu as it boasts many options to suit the discerning fish lover much so we ordered three starters.
The prawn and smoked salmon starter was so disappointing as tiny frozen shrimp were placed on top of slimy salmon with the tiniest amount of dressing. The crab claws were really tasty and the huge amount of pâté and two rounds of brown toast were also good. I headed off to use the bathroom before the main however after 5mins of standing outside the door the woman who was leaving informed me the toilet was blocked and not flushing. I left and returned to my table.
The main courses were cooked well but again, literally no flare in presentation just a piece of fish on a plate and mash in a bowl beside. The dishes passing us to other tables looked so impressive we were gutted with our choices.
The hubby went then to use the facilities and also returned unhappy as the bathroom was filthy and we decided to pay and leave. All in, it was very disappointing and sadly we won't be back.

Stopped here for lunch. The woman who appeared to be running the dining room gave the impression that our presence was a great inconvenience to her. Had to wait an age before someone took our order and 45 minutes more before the food finally arrived. Definitely not worth the wait - had distinctly unplesant vegetagle soup that could have been made from the previous day's leftovers judging by the taste and very dry chicken sandwiches made with poor quality bread and cheap margerine. Will not be back.

We booked a table for 6pm, we arrived and were told the table wasnt ready yet, fair enough it seemed busy, another family came in about 10 minutes later without a booking a were taken to a table straight away, normally I would leave at that stage but we have been coming here for years and loved it. We were finally seated after 20 minutes, order taken and waited another 25 mins for food to arrive, when it did it was cold and diffently not what we expected, I was going to complain but my husband and kids love here, so I said nothing. We go out to the car after paying bill and my husband says never again will he go back, and that's from a man who would have drove 2 hours from our home just for the food because it was so good, just really disappointed

We especially appreciated the wooden pods outside. Quite romantic. Nice touch. Food ok. Lovely views across the road and not far from the most northerly point in the country, which we visited afterwards.

Great place! Very good value for money. Close to Malin Head, right in front of the beach. The food is SO GOOD! Amazing breakfast. The best we had in Ireland for sure. They were very flexible with our check in. The nicest and friendly owners. Strongly recommend.

The dinner was gorgeous! I highly recommend the fresh fish: the chef was absolutely amazing! The main hotel is very cute right next to the sea. Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy this because...

When we arrived we expected to stay in a "Standard Double Room - Annex": the term annex means a building directly attached. When we arrived we were told that we had to follow the owner, 3 kilometres away... and we were brought in the middle of nowhere in a little modern new built house in the middle of a field. Probably one of these little houses they rent weekly in the summer time. After driving for 4 hours I was exhausted and SO disappointed... this is not how I had imagined my romantic weekend... The owners offered to drive us back and forth to the main hotel as we wanted to go to the local pub... but we were driven back by the restaurant staff who served our dinner a few hours before.... the room was average and dusty. def not worth the money we were charged for it. We felt we were lied to as the hotel was probably full when we reserved and they put us in an "annex room" which was NOT an annex at all... the owner even called it a "satellite". I was very sad by the whole thing and it really annoyed me to pay for this "fiasco" of a weekend... this unfortunately gave us a bad taste of Donegal... even though it is so beautiful!

I would recommend this hotel and ist restaurant but NOT the annex...

Stopped for dinner on a rainy Sunday afternoon in June after a long drive, on a strong recommendation from the lady in the souvenir trailer-shop at the top of Malin Head. We were the only ones in the dining room. Service was slow and unenthusiastic to say the least. The dinner was very average. I had the roast beef and my friend had the turkey and ham. All was hot and plentiful in amount, just not anything more than average. The view from the dining room was great however and that is another reason why we chose to eat here. Maybe it was just an off day, who knows.
