Stayed at this cottage for a couple nights this weekend. Booking process was extremely easy. Staff members was very friendly and helpful!
We stayed at the Blue Heron Cottage, which was clean and cozy, however not very well insulated. On both nights were a family party outside and really loud, We could hear them quite easily which was a bit frustrating. The cottages and park has long grass growing that could be cleaned and maintained to make it look a little more clean.
If ypu dont care about that kinda stuff, I highly recommend this place, very easy access to Cavendish, everything that you need is there (Forks, knives, plates, soap, etc)

We loved the location of these cottages, on the water and in close proximity to restaurants and shopping. Our family of 3 had the EXE cottage which is on the end facing the front. You walked in the front door into the kitchen, then on the left was one bedroom with a queen sized bed. One big bathroom with a huge garden tub. The other bedroom had a bunked with a full size bed on bottom and twin on top. Our 18 year old loved having her own space. Living area had a couch and recliner with another chair and TV. Very nice deck out the back with big table and chairs that were new looking. Each cottage has a gas grill. Out back is a huge play ground, unground pool with new liner, some lounge chairs and regular plastic sitting chairs. Fenced in and kids cannot open the latch unless they are over 5 feet tall! They provide towels for your pool use. The inn keepers were nice and available if needed. The only negative we had was early on our first day when everyone was showering I guess, I had no hot water at all. But this just happened one time and was not a big deal to me.
Great place for families. Looks like they have some cottages that would hold alot of people, also great for groups.
Our experience was overall very favorable (have stayed at Shaw's at other times on the island) and would stay again.

I stayed 2 nights at this cottage with my parents and nieces ( 5 and 8 years old). It was a perfect place. The cottage was clean and very well kept. It had a pool that the kids just loved. The view was magnificent over Stanley bridge river. In the evening they made a campfire. The owners Barbara and Wolfgang were very niece and made themself available if we needed anything. Overall, cottages in the Cavendish can be a bit expensive for what you get. This cottage was a great value. I would certainly return.

I think these "cottages" would be a better experience for families. As a couple, we were fairly disappointed. I debated between a 2 and a 3 and went with the higher rating because I felt maybe we were just out of place.
Most of the "cottages" are attached, more like apartments, really, than cottages. As another reviewer mentioned, they could use a little love on the outside--and quite a bit of love on the inside.
Ours was spacious a plenty. Two bedrooms, a bath, and a large living dining space. The kitchen was mostly in the entry way with a sink and gas stovetop. The fridge was around the corner in the living/dining area. Our unit had a decent deck with deck furniture and a grill.
The whole apartment seemed dingy and dated. It seemed cleanish, but lots of areas looked dirty. They may have been clean enough, but the upkeep left some places that kind of gave me the shivers.
Much of the place looks like DIY projects that were partially done and never finished. Moldings just stop in odd places.
We picked up a decent pizza at Greco's and brought it back. Otherwise, we only used the fridge.
Sleep was reasonable. The property has quiet hours, and I was pleasantly surprised at just how quiet it was.
It wasn't a bad stay, but we had stayed in cottages nearby around 20 years ago, and those had blown me away with their cleanliness and condition. These did not do the same.

The owners were sweet on the phone. We were excited about a few days on beautiful PEI! We quickly realized that this was not going to be a stress-free vacation. The owners ended up being extremely disrespectful. When we indicated that we did not want to argue with them - we were told that we should "learn to argue better". The website description is not accurate- internet service was sporatic, no beach to speak of, deluxe cottage is tiny with paper thin walls, towels were not changed. We were willing to overlook all of this until the owners became beligerent. Most disconcerting was that they charged our credit card additional charges without our express permission. What a horrible place to stay! The beautiful sunset was over shadowed by the disrespect of the owners. It was a comfort to read the 2 other reviewers description. They confirmed our negative experiences. We would never recommend this as a "place to stay on PEI".

If you want to have any fun or privacy DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This was the worst place I have ever stayed in my entire life and not because of the actual accomodations, the cottages were fine but the service was disgraceful! Noise complaint on the first night because the walls are paper thin and if you plan on sleeping in you better hope your neighbours are too! If not, you're going to be woken up as soon as they are by the fact you can hear your neighbours ENTIRE conversations through the walls. Also if you're on vacation and want to stay out on the deck past midnight you might as well forget that too because the guy there will come over and tell you to go to bed and stand there until you do! The weekend we were there was for the CBMF so of course it's gonna get a bit roudy it's to be expected but when the owner comes over and points you out of a group and says they're going to black list you when I did absolutely nothing - it's more than rude. On top of all of the terrrible service while we were there we received an email that night when we got home declaring they were charging us hundreds of dollars on damages and extra time spent cleaning the cottage which we did not leave in ruins! Apparently leaving your garbage behind in the designated bin is "disgusting" and they'll charge you an extra hundred because it took them a long time to clean up. Beleive me, I will never EVER stay here again and I beg you don't waste your time or your money because in the end you're going to end up paying way more than you expected!

We stayed for 2 nights, the cottage is not the type we booked, 1 less bed but yet charge us the higher price. For the cottage my friend booked, the owner refuse to provide bedding for the extra bed saying they should have charge our friend $50 extra but they didn't when they quote the price - ridiculous excuse. They charged us $90+ saying we ruined their whole bed becuase my girl spilled a bit left over chocolate milk on the sheet. When we called to dispute, they simply hung up the phone. My advice is DO NOT stay in this cottage.

This guest booked a 2 bedroom deluxe cottage as described on our website for the price on our website. We have all the prooves on our reservation system. When they arrived they started arguing right aways that they needed an extra bed - which was fine for us but of course we had to charge $ 15.00+tax for an extra person. This guest did not want to except this charge and started arguing over and over again. Concerning the sheets and bedding: after the guest was leaving all silk sheets and the mattress cover were full of blood and other stain and the guest had tried to wash it and then bundled it up to hide the damage. We tried to wash and bleach and even the toughest stain remover did not work ( it was definitively no chocolate milk!) - so we had to buy a new set of sheets and mattress cover for a queen size bed. It is always sad if guests are leaving damages and are trying to hide it and are just dishonest about this problem - but we have to make sure the next guest can expect a spotlessly clean bed . We as business owners have to protect our own investment that's why all hotels and accomodation businesses are holding a damage policy - too bad that a few guests just think they can leave damages and ruin foreign property without paying for it . As previous reviews have said, the owners are very nice on the phone and it seemed like it was going to be a great weekend for the Cavendish Beach Music Festival (which is not as close as I was told it was - 1 hour walk!!) and my weekend was quickly turned upside down. Not only did we get noise complaints for almost nothing, we were told to go to bed while sitting outside with our neighbors! (who we obviously weren't disturbing!) The people down at the fire pit were also told to go to bed - around midnight! They were not very pleasant either, they were disrespectful and rude to both us and our neighbors. If you want a relaxing vacation, this is most definitely not the place to stay. Although the views and location were great, it is simply not worth it.
On top of all of that they charged us 208$ for a screen door being damaged ( one of the days we were there is was extremely windy and the two pieces of wood simply came apart - she provided me with photo proof) but to charge us 208$ for something that could have been fixed with a single screw is just ridiculous. The other 100$ charge was for "extra cleaning hours" and we did NOT leave a mess. Scattered garbage, stripped beds and all bottles & cans in boxes and a garbage bag - obviously not a mess. They also did not notify us before charging ANY of this to my boyfriends visa. We got a little ketchup on a towel the first night, and they charged us 11.55$ to replace it.
The swimming pool was also green with algae.
All-in-all this is not a great place to stay if you want a stress free weekend away.

We are very proud to be one of the best and acknowledged <Family Resorts> on the Green Gables Shore in Cavendish PEI and we are well known for spottlessly clean cottages and great Island hospitality. We are always trying to deliver services to the best customer satisfaction. We have to look after the well being of 80-90 guests during the CBMF and for us it is very sad that a handful of guests -who were under the permanent and extensive influence of alcohol during the 4 festival days was trying not only to ruin the resorts atmosphere but also reacted very respectless and left damages which we as business owners could not just < overlook or fix>. We were very generous with the bedtime hours during the festival but we think it was our duty at 3.30a.m. to ask these guests to stop the constant yelling and screaming - so that all the other 85 guests could get finally some sleep - after complaining all night about this respectless behaviour. But these people started arguing very loud even at 3.30a.m. and slammed the doors - that's why one screen door broke apart! Concerning the towels: this guest came to change the towels which were F U L L of ketchup and mustard - her own comment was: I know the boys are pigs! Our pool is always in excellent condition referring to the Department of Health. For us as business owners it is very unfortunate that among the hundresds of guests during the season there are always a few that behave this disrespectful , are leaving damages and try to disturb and ruin the very smooth and peaceful operation of our well looked after business and if they have to pay for it at the end they post bad comments.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed!! The cottages were below average, the screen doors didn't latch and it was so windy we had to listen to the doors slamming all day and night! We thought the cottages were pet friendly (a mistake on our part I will admit) and when the owner, Wolfgang, saw the dogs outside in the parking lot he drove up on his golf cart screaming at my husband, accusing us of being sneaky and liars. I could hear him yelling from inside the cottage! It was extremely embarrassing, our 9 month old son was there and I have never been spoken to that rudely in my life. We offered to leave, as it was our mistake, but the worst part was that we paid upfront and they would not return our money for the nights we didn't stay there. It was the most horrible event I have ever experienced while traveling and the most UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Understandably not everyone enjoys the company of other pets but when you advertise on your website that your establishment is "Pet Friendly" I feel you should atleast show some respect to pets. On check in my girlfriend was advised by both owners (husband and wife) on where the pet was allowed and where it wasn't and that the dog was to be on a leash at all times. Understandable and we are good to go. She attempts to tie the dog in one of the desginated locations and immediatly she was told that this was not the proper spot and that the dog needs to remain out back and not out front. That kept us from using the deck for just sitting around. We then left the dog for no longer than 3 hours the next day and after another confrontation as soon as we arrived back they claimed that we were gone over 7 hours. I assure you that this wasn't the case. After being basically harrassed for the rest of our stay and words being exchanged several times it was clear that these people were anything but, pet friendly. Don't advertise that you accept animals if you are annoyed by the site of them. I rate businesses as I see them and I feel that anyone planning a trip to Prince Edward Island would be able to find any other cottage to stay at but this one. Advertise correctly and be professional or step down and let someone who can do the job take over.
Overall, nice location...rooms were extremly small and sitting area was built for two only, although it had 2 bedrooms for each couple. Alot of the furniture was out dated but served the purpose. I would definetly shop around in the future.
