Have just spent a four night break here and were very pleased. The sample menu on-line doesn't do the pub any favours and we were delighted to find that there is another complete menu which varies every day. So we decided to eat in every evening and didn't regret it. Fish dishes particularly good. Reasonably priced wine list. Someone in...

Lovely little pub and hotel. Great friendly staff and food was amazing. Short walk down to beach for a bit if fresh air. Room was lovely nothing fancy but clean and well presented. If there was one thing I would say against here was the lights outside front of building where on all night which made the room light all...

We were visiting the Donkey Sanctuary and wanted somewhere pretty to stay and opted for this hotel in a peaceful village on the coast. The hotel is really a nice village pub with rooms and they have converted a run of cottages into additional rooms. The whole place has lovely cottage style gardens which really set the place off. We...

The room was very small but I guess that happens in old hotels. Food was excellent and staff were very nice. The village is also very nice and the walk to the beach worth the time. Not much else in Branscombe but the hotel and the small church but was a great place to just sit and do very little.

Just got back from a weekend break, and is was wonderful. The Mason Arms is beautiful and the accommodations are excellent. We booked a superior room and it was divine, lovely bedroom and a huge bathroom with both bath and separate shower. The views were amazing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. As...

Has all the right features for the area and plenty of locals, visitors dogs, etc. Even had a nice fire going on a drizzly day. Serves a good selection and beer and the food, although not tried looked appetising. Place is tucked away and very charming.

Open fire, great choice of real ale, cracking seasonal menu. All served by a friendly staff who didn't seem phased by the fact a new management couple had just started (both of whom were very friendly). I had a room above the bar which was quite compact but well furnished and despite the paper thin wall through to next door...

For many years we have passed the Masons Arms either by car or on foot, we have access to a family house in Branscombe but at this time it was not available so we decided to give this a go. The stay in superior room 7 was superb. Very spacious, huge bed and an ensuite that was larger than some...

Having read previous reviews, I really wanted to stay here. Unfortunately, the hotel was full so we decided to go for lunch instead. Branscombe is beautiful, very picturesque and the setting of the pub/hotel is lovely. However, I was not impressed with the interior. The room we sat in seemed very crowded with furniture. In fact we had to move...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestling in the heart of Branscombe, one of Britain's most picturesque villages, is the award winning, 14th Century, The Masons Arms. This charming thatched Inn dates back to 1350 - a cider house turned country pub - and the men who cut the stone for Exeter Cathedral drank here, hence the name. With only a leisurely ten minute stroll to Branscombe Beach, The Masons Arms offers an ideal base to escape the stresses of modern life and enjoy the magical vista of sea, beaches and the spectacular walks offered by the ninety five miles of Devon and Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The authentic interiors ooze character with timber frames, low beamed ceilings, pine cladding, whitewashed walls and a huge roaring log fire. Our award winning Restaurant offers an exciting and creative menu in relaxed fine dining surroundings. The Masons Arms kitchen brigade are dedicated to sourcing the very best of local Dartmoor produce. The cooking is classy yet simple, perfect for a special meal or relaxing Country lunch. We serve as many as six locally brewed bitters and the finest wines from around the world. The 21 bedrooms at the Masons Arms Branscombe, are cosy, stylish and inviting, blending comfort with character.
