Stayed in room 23 at the rear of the main pub building. Large bright and airy room with SuperKing bed. Off this room is a smaller room with twin singles - both share a good sized bathroom. Everything was clean and spotless. Both rooms were very comfortable and finished with a few antique pieces of furniture but done in a...

The staff at the Masons Arms are amazingly welcoming and so dog friendly. The cottage we stayed in behind the pub had a well-equipped bathroom a large 4 poster bed and had plenty of space for the dog. It’s a beautifully quiet and relaxed place to stay with easy access to the south coast path. The food was very reasonably...

We had a great long weekend at the Mason's Arms and although the weather was not the greatest the Pub and the surrounding area made up for the odd shower. We had a small double room which absolutely perfect for us and we ate in the restaurant every evening . A good and varied range of dishes on the menu...

Really friendly landlords gave a warm welcome and the staff were all lovely. Food was fantastic, from the point of view of a vegetarian and a fish eater - both evening meal and breakfast delicious, we were really pleased. Easy 10 minute stroll to the beach, where there is a brilliant cafe + access to the south west coast path...

Weekend break chosen as we were off to the Land Rover 4x4 experience in Awliscombe (which was a first class place itself). Were originally looking at Beer, but we're soooo pleased we found the Mason's Arms instead. In a perfectly English coastal village, nestled just up from the pebble beach, the Mason's itself provides a super building, functional and pleasant...

Just had three excellent nights here . We loved from the moment we checked in . Helpfully and friendly staff always goes a long way with us . We had Room 34 , very spacious and modern . I think the bathroom is bigger than a lot of hotel rooms you may have stayed in . The Masons Arms is...

Had the most enjoyable weekend staying at the Masons. Staff were lovely and the food in the retaurant was very good. It was our anniversary and the champagne left in our room was both unexpected and much appreciated. Thanks once again we would not hesitate to recommend the Masons Arms to anyone Hope to visit again some time.

This is a beautiful 'olde worlde' pub with great warmth and charm. Set in a lovely little village close to the beach. We were booked in on a B& B basis and given one of the newer rooms which was exceptionally spacious and tastefully kitted out with most essentials including tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was also spacious...

another enjoyable week-end in a lovely country pub. Food was excellent...fish and chips v large portion and cheese board needs two to share.. A walk down to the sea helps to walk off all that food. Stayed in cottage 12 which was worth the extra as it had own parking, four poster and room to sit and relax. Janice and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestling in the heart of Branscombe, one of Britain's most picturesque villages, is the award winning, 14th Century, The Masons Arms. This charming thatched Inn dates back to 1350 - a cider house turned country pub - and the men who cut the stone for Exeter Cathedral drank here, hence the name. With only a leisurely ten minute stroll to Branscombe Beach, The Masons Arms offers an ideal base to escape the stresses of modern life and enjoy the magical vista of sea, beaches and the spectacular walks offered by the ninety five miles of Devon and Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The authentic interiors ooze character with timber frames, low beamed ceilings, pine cladding, whitewashed walls and a huge roaring log fire. Our award winning Restaurant offers an exciting and creative menu in relaxed fine dining surroundings. The Masons Arms kitchen brigade are dedicated to sourcing the very best of local Dartmoor produce. The cooking is classy yet simple, perfect for a special meal or relaxing Country lunch. We serve as many as six locally brewed bitters and the finest wines from around the world. The 21 bedrooms at the Masons Arms Branscombe, are cosy, stylish and inviting, blending comfort with character. The Masons Arms has been awarded a FOUR STAR rating under the Inn category by Quality in Tourism. ... more   less
